MGoConfessions
The 2012 year is upon us, close enough that we feel the moisture of its breath on the back of our necks. Tomorrow we will face possibly the toughest opponent since our last Rose Bowl. Time to confess your MGoSins. We wouldn't want to go to battle with a guilty conscience. So I want to hear every game you were sure we would lose. Every dark thought you have had about the Michigan program that turned out to be wrong. Time to go into the football confessional.
I'll start:
My dad was (and is) a huge Michigan fan. I grew up going to the fourth quarter of every home game, because as a 3-4 year old, my attention span would not allow for my dad to watch the entire game live. We lived just blocks from the stadium, and it was his chance to get me into portions of the games for free (which is no longer the case). I remember that at around age 10, I briefly thought about being a Michigan State fan, if only to rebel against my dad. Everybody loved Michigan, poor MSU had no love*. I'm not sure why I didn't stray, but I am deeply glad I did not.
I was irate when Denard Robinson took over for Tate. Why mess up something good? I was actually DISAPPOINTED to hear that Denard had a monster spring game during his sophomore year, as I did not think that he was the future of our program. He is now my all-around favorite Michigan Wolverine of all time.
I was extremely disappointed that our AD flubbed the coaching search a year and a half ago. There were big names on the table and we settled on some no-name guy with a losing record. Brady Hoke has done literally everything right since his appointment as our head coach, and I would not trade our coaching staff for any other in the country.
Despite these two huge whiffs, I still have strong opinions on what the football team should look like, based solely on baseless conjecture. I'm sure that will never stop.
*On a side note, this phenomenon is responsible for a disproportionately large number of Michigan fans in the city of Columbus.

In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max’s toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog…When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I went nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out…But the worst thing I ever done — I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa — and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life.

growing up in ohio in the 80's my dad didnt watch college football so i had no interest in it. every year the day before THE GAME, our school would hold a pep rally: Ohio fans on one side, Michigan fans on the other. All my friends were Ohio fans, so I just sat with them and cheered for Ohio. I didnt know any better (This pains me to even write this) by the time I got to high schoolI saw the light and Desmond Howard and the Fab Five showed me MICHIGAN is the right choice.
I actually was excited for Rich Rod and thought we would be winning national titles with him. I defended him until late 2010, then I finally realized we needed someone else.
I thought we were gonna go undefeated in 2007 so I bought season tix from ebay and payed more than double for them. I'm still upset I payed that much, sure glad I have real season tix now. Although I did sell the tickets to THE HORROR, which turned out to be one of the greatest decisions ive ever made

I was an instant Tom Brady fan and thought he was head & shoulders better than Hensen. As you may recall, Lloyd went with the 2 QB system for a while. During the middle of a game when Hensen threw and INT, I looked up Hensen's campus phone #. I left him a voicemail that said something like, "Why are you playing?? You're not as good as Brady. You should be on the bench."
Yes, I was an ass.

who Bo Schembechler was until about 1 week after I moved into the dorms my freshman year.
Now, I'm so obsessed with Michigan sports and MGoBlog that my social life suffers from it.
I peed in my pants a little during the OT win against Penn State in 2002

Mine: I don't really hate Notre Dame. I hate them when we play them, and usually for a little while afterwards because of their annoying fans always complaining about officiating, but other than that ND doesn't really bug me.
I feel they have many parallels with Michigan: great fight song, storied tradition, great helmets and uniforms (most of the time). In a parallel universe where M football didn't exist, I would be an ND fan in a heartbeat over MSU/OSU/PSU/etc.
