MgoCommunity: Help Me Decided My 2 Game Ticket Package

Submitted by brewandbluesaturdays on

Happy April Fools Day board! I come to you for help instead of folly on this day. My brother recently graduated from Grad school at U of M. Him and I are both die-hard, life long fans. As most of you know today was the release of the 2 game ticket packages for the 2011 season, that alumni association members get. We originally had wanted to go to the ND and SDSU games, due to ND being the first ever night game. However, his wife is a PSU fan and he will be attending the PSU v. Alabama game the very weekend of the ND game, so that package is off the table. We are left with deciding, between Western (the opener) and Nebraska or Eastern and OSU. We are leaning towards the Nebraska/Western package, but we need some help from the board. Any thoughts? Input?

Edit: Called my brother to clarify, tickets aren't actually on sale, he just got the email about the 2 game packages he can choose from when they are on sale. My bad, this is not in anyway meant to be an April Fools joke. But, we stll need help deciding which one we should pick.

This has to be a joke...when do tickets really go on sale? I'm an alumnus, i missed the memo.

EDIT: I should check my email:

Don't get blindsided! The Alumni Association has access to a limited quantity of tickets for each 2011 home football game, and they are available for purchase by current Association members. An order form will be available for download on Friday, April 1. We will accept order forms beginning Wednesday, April 20, at 8 a.m. Eastern time. Visit our Web site for more information.

Eastern and Ohio State... there is no question my man!   (I'd love to see the Nebraska game, but Ohio State Michigan is always a taste of history.)

I'm aiming to go to the ND game... i've been to the last three in a row (2-1... 2 at ND, 1 at Michigan.)

That said, Nebraska would be sweet.  I thought you could only get 2?:

  • There will be a two-ticket limit for the Notre Dame, Nebraska and Ohio State games. All other games will have a 10 ticket limit.

Gotcha, so go with Western... You should go to the Ohio State game, obviously, however there's still a chance to get tix w/o a package (they sometimes sell individual tickets, but if you try hard enough, you can get piggy back seats.. (e.g. Same Section, Same Seat, 2 different but consecutive rows.)

have to have a uniqname and p/w to access the form.  I downloaded the form and it is straight forward.  You have to be a Alumni Association member.

Im going to take the ND game: 1st EVER night game, warm temperatures, start drinking at none, drunk by 3, power nap to 6, in stadium to watch the band at 6:30.

OSU is the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  So is thats not a problem for and your family, the decision of OSU or Nebraska is a no-brainer.

Don't get me wrong -- welcoming Nebraska to Michigan Stadium will be memorable.. but I'd rather see in person us beat OSU for the first time in I don't even want to say how many years!

I always liked the OSU game and they are our biggest rival. It would be great to attend a game when we finally beat this team and who knows this may be the year!

On the other hand you have a chance to attend the first UM vs NE B1G TEN game. Something kind of historic. NE will probably become our biggest rival within our division.

I cannot really decide but I don't think you can go wrong with either package. I wish I had the choice but I can never get away from my job. Though, the Saturday Michigan travels to Iowa I have the weekend off and am planning to be in Iowa City rooting on Michigan!
