MGoBlue-Blake Countess Interview

Submitted by sULLY on

MGoBlue has an interview with Blake Countess, and I have to say that I'm very impressed with his attitude and maturity.  He has quickly become one of my favorite players on defense.  Even when an opposing WR catches the ball he is right on him to make the tackle.

the unbelievable improvement of our defense.  I hope to see him mentioned for All-American honors in the future.

Also, Blake, save that "best play" for a pick six against Ohio.

Seems like an impressive young man. Quiet confidence and humble; love it.

Hopefully, we have his protege in Stefon Diggs playing for Meeeichigan next year.

This kid is going to be our next beast CB...GO BLUE

That was an impressive interview.  Blake has a great attitude and outlook.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him eventually become an All-American and then play on Sundays.

I love his attitude. He is not cocky, as he said, but confidant in what he can do, while still knowing he has lots of improvement to make. He will be one of our biggest play makers over the next few years. Now if he can only lure Diggs here as well...

...in Scout's 2011 CB recruiting rankings, he's pretty darned impressive.

Of the 19 CBs who were rated higher than Countess, I note that three committed to Georgia, and two each to Oregon and Texas. That's also pretty impressive on their part. I hope we can start garnering D prospects like that in the future.

I don't want to say I cant believe this cause I can but wow Hoke said Borges did a nice job playing to the Defense after we for up 14-0. Wow. I know if you are blind to these things in football and loyal to a fault to coaches you may think nothing of that but that just reiterates to me same old bs 9-10 win seasons and I hope you who wanted it are all happy. Borges is pathetic he has to go. D is playing great Mattison is coaching great. Not being passive. That's what we need obviously from our O. That's how you lose games to teams like Iowa that you should beat. Don't bring Rich Rod in to this he has nothing to do with it. We are talking about right now.

Blake is becoming one of my favorite players on the team and seems like a guy that will become a leader in the secondary as we get some big time recruits behind him.  He is easily my favorite from this class and I've always just loved his toughness and his competitiveness. He's just been a model player so far.

(If you can't tell, I love secondary players)

My entire time being aware of and a huge fan of Michigan football, there's always been at least one cornerback that got me excited. Since Warren leapt to the NFL prematurely, this... has not been the case. Even a little bit. Blake and, increasingly (fingers crossed) JT are starting to turn the tide.

Seriously, U of M has been Cornerback U (and Tight End, soon to be restored):

-- Leon Hall

-- Ty Law

-- Marlin Jackson

-- Charles Woodson

-- Donovan Warren

-- Dave Brown

I grew up obsessed with great secondary play at Michigan (Tripp Welborne was my first, even though he was a safety). Glad to see it's alive and kicking in Blake and classes to come!
