you're not alone, sadly...
Why is this a sad thing?
I check this blog every 5-10 minutes, regardless of what's happening or what time it is.
different ways (RSS, Twitter) to know when there's a new post, I still hit the refresh button like a patient who hits the button for another dose of morphine.
EDIT: New post! ... And you know that feeling you get, don't you?
I don't think anybody could of said this any better because it's undeniably true lol
I thought that was "in the works" and not done yet. I don't see where the link is to that. Could you please share that so I can pipe it to my phone like a morphine drip.
After scrambling around like a dope fiend I found it.
Yes, I check this blog every couple of minutes. MGoBlog is my crack, and unfortunately there is no 12 step program to get me off of it.
Unfortunately? More like thankfully
I'm addicted to booze.
I'm addicted to women.
I'm addicted to Michigan Football.
I'm addicted to MGoBlog.
And not necessarily in that order...
Considering I need constant stimuli related to 1, 2, 3, and/or 4 of these things at all times, and, considering I can't drink or watch UM football while at work... hitting refresh every 5-10 minutes keeps me psychologically stable and out of trouble (most of the time).
So I gather you're employed at a strip joint or at Martha Cook?
No.
I manage a nursing home.
touche
I see now why you're addicted to booze. Old people drive me crazy just from they way they drive, I can't imagine dealing with them all day, every day.
This site doesn't play that well with the iPhone or I'd really be screwed.
It plays fine with my iPhone. And boy does it play a lot. Maybe try giving yours a little be more playtime.
I have desktop shortcuts on my Droid to 1) the MGoBlog main page and 2) my thread-tracker page.
They are the only two pages I have shortcuts to on my phone. I know I have a problem but I can't stop, haha.
Go for the RSS feed. It cuts down on the "internet" time if your a working lad at a company that monitors that kinda stuff.
And it about killed me. But for me personally, it has been a good discipline not to be around too much.
Lent isn't over though...
i plan my lunch around the noon updates. I usually check the blog for new MGoBoard stuff in the morning, then I try like hell to not check it until I go get lunch, so I would have some good to read while I eat.
I went through that phase a couple times, mostly late in the seasons from 06-08. Christmas break always knocks me back down a few pegs. By February I'm on all the time as I'm floating around the RSS/twitter for random college baseball stuff anyway. This is the 4th window after the email/RSS/twitter tabs pretty much a minimum of 18 hours of my day.
... to pass the time! :P
It gets worse at work; being that I'm on a computer all day, I'm constantly checking on the site. I'd make it my home page if I could. I'm surprised I can access it, I guess the IT guys are Wolverines too.
I feel that way too but I have this thing called a life so I don't check up on things too often.
Your life sounds terrible.
keep in mind you are amongst mgoblog addicts. I only check in eight times per day now. It used to be 12, so I'm getting better...or worse. It really depends on which way you look at it I guess.
That amazing life that you have didn't keep you off the computer and away from this blog today at 2:51 PM EST.

It's called a joke. People here are wound up like a kettle drum.
I check on here a couple times a day. I can't go a day without Michigan sports.
So I'm not the only one... is there some sort of support group?... pshht, like I'd ever want to give up MGoBlog, for the record I can quit checking anytime I want to.
If I could have an implant downloaded that automatically downloaded the updates to my brain it would save me mas time.
I rarely bother to check before noon, but if a new post isn't up by 1pm I start to wonder what could have happened....
I teach in New York state.
On a Tuesday when school was cancelled for the second day in a row, and three hours before a scheduled closing of county roads due to heavy snow, I drove the twelve miles to town to get a way-overpriced modem because the old one went pffffft. I couldn't bear four consecutive days of no mgoblog. In my beat to hell 2000 Galant I made it there and back, resuming the home internets.
I check for updates before school, any time I give students time in class to work, and as soon as I get home. I refuse to undergo treatment, because I have yet to admit to myself that this is a problem. I think back to the days of my youth when I had to go weeks and sometimes even months at a time without ANY kind of Michigan news. My college years, spent in the south, were largely vacant of fellow fans who could adequately appreciate my obsession.
Mgoblog addiction is not a problem; it is a blessing.
ME: I am HAIL-2-VICTORS and I am an MGoBlog addict.
YOU: Hello Hail 2 Victors.
Sometimes I keep the Board page open for hours at a time, refreshing every few minutes if there are some interesting threads.
I've been known to totally forget to check the main page.
Often, board posting will slow down, (because everyone is reading/posting about the latest front page article) and after about a half hour I'm like "hey, where'd everybody go?".
I am a mgofiend
I am curious to know roughly how much time everyone spends on this site. I probably rack up 6-8 hours a week. All I know is that its not enough time I should be spending here....
