MGoBlog is a Respected Source!
http://college-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/24156338/26034175
Not wanting to say anything about the topic of this article, but one line in particular NEEDS to be shown:
If RichRod's job is in trouble, we're not going to hear about it from random chatter; it'll be from one of about four or five respected sources (including but not limited to CBS, ESPN, the AP, and mgoblog), because those are the people who are going to have access to the highers-up that make that call.
Way to go Brian and all the other contributors! Good to see the blog getting the respect it deserves!

They listed the sources in the wrong order.
November 25th, 2010 at 2:46 PM ^
+1 for you. I trust the sources more and more as you move from left to right, maybe flip CBS and ESPN...

fuck you

Remember the days when trolls were actually semi-intelligent and arguing with them was occasionally enjoyable?
That was a better time, it was...
November 25th, 2010 at 11:43 AM ^
Why would they list ESPN?
November 25th, 2010 at 11:48 AM ^
All it takes is one Magnus post and it all goes away.
November 26th, 2010 at 1:04 PM ^
Thanks.
November 25th, 2010 at 11:53 AM ^
Listing ESPN as respected does make the article lose some credibility.
November 25th, 2010 at 11:48 AM ^
I like how CBS posted a story in which they listed off respected sources, the first of which includes CBS.
November 25th, 2010 at 11:54 AM ^
Its good to hear some respect coming this Blogs way. It has become more and more clear over time that Mgoblog really is the best place to get clear reporting along with insightful commentary about U-M sports. Its a place where any bias is worn on the sleeve of the various writers instead of hidden behind some agenda...to Brian, and all the regular contributors I salute you...

Does that mean I can put "contributed to a respectable online source for sports information" on a resume?
November 25th, 2010 at 12:01 PM ^
Assuming you're a fellow alum, I have to tell you no.
If you're not, hey, why not? What's the worst that could happen?
November 25th, 2010 at 12:00 PM ^
Does this mean I can cite it in research papers? MLA-style.

And you didn't share the paper with us?

Congrats to Brian, Tim, Tom, and others. It's about time his website got recognized as credible, and not just another blog. Because mgoblog is more than just a blog.........

is like grouping a new Acura MDX with a five-year old Hummer that gets 6mpg, a heavily bondo'd 1990 Plymouth minivan that somebody's sleeping in down by the river, and a badly rusting '70 Pinto up on blocks.

Heh... nice collection of old FoMoCo products in that junkyard shot.
November 25th, 2010 at 2:34 PM ^
Do you have a location of this vehicle. Daughter just got her permit and I'm looking for a fixer upper. Little bondo, primer and four sets of tread = golden.
November 25th, 2010 at 7:26 PM ^
...of driving my dad's Pintorati. God that car was such a piece of crap.
When it finally died on the shoulder of Groesbeck, we were all so happy that it had finally gone to the great junkyard in the sky.

I take issue, sir, with your use of an Acura to analogize a Michigan product.

Not many sports blog (especially blogs about certain teams) are as well run as mgoblog. So much Michigan info it is amazing.
November 25th, 2010 at 12:31 PM ^
mgoblog is the ONLY source, outside of Dave Brandon himself.
November 25th, 2010 at 1:04 PM ^
Mgoblog get the michigan info so much faster than ESPN etc its crazy. I swear ESPN gets their michigan info from here.....
November 25th, 2010 at 1:20 PM ^
Mgoblog always has the info first. By the time ESPN has it, it's old news here.
November 25th, 2010 at 1:27 PM ^
I am on this site 4-5 times a day. I don't always have alot to say but I sure enjoy the news and information that comes from here. Congrats to everyone involved!

Is that all? You must not like coming here very often. You're not nearly obsessive enough.
November 25th, 2010 at 1:50 PM ^
Hot Damn! I am an official contributor to a respected media source. I guess that makes me a journalist.
Which now qualifies me for douchebag status in Detroit.
November 25th, 2010 at 2:07 PM ^
I discovered this site about a year ago and I'm pretty sure Brian has received about 20 million clicks from me since! Love it!

LETS GO BLOG!!!
Great Job guys
November 26th, 2010 at 7:41 PM ^
Brian has done a tremendous job in creating, building and maintaing a great site. There are dozens of excellent, well-informed writers that make frequent and vital contributions. I think there are far more informed knowledgeable fans here than on any "pay for" site I've either visited or belonged to.
As to the local MSM, it's rather sad, given their advantages, this site is recognized as being far more informative, honest and more respected as a research address than the local rags. They should be ashamed, but hey, it's not dishonest to say they've been surpassed in terms of providing M football news worthy of reading by those mentioned above in large part due to the fact, the contributors described above are of higher moral character and possess more integrity than almost all those paid to at least pretend to interject these traits in their writing.
Congratulations to Brain and all other long-time contributors. This site is the best UM site I've found.

I believe Adam Jacobi is Oops Pow Surprise of BHGP fame. So not surprising that he'd list mgoblog. Pretty cool, nevertheless!
November 25th, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
CBS ESPN et al should be congratulated for being associated with MGoBlog. Why should we be happy to get recognition from the MSM when we have completely transcended them?

I don't say this to be arrogant or snarky. There is almost no one writing for a major MSM outlet that has the consistent insight into Michigan football that MGoBlog does. Everyone that really matters knows this, I think.
November 25th, 2010 at 8:59 PM ^
I've recently been told that mgoblog can be readily replaced by ten bloggers waiting in the wings. This news doesn't jibe with what I was told ergo, you guys are wrong. So, there.
November 25th, 2010 at 9:57 PM ^
Good. Otherwise I've been wasting a LOT of my time.
