Mgoblog Love

Submitted by bdneely4 on
I hate OSU. I am from Ohio (born and raised) and can't stand that I even live in this state. I need and appreciate the fact I have the mgoblog family to communicate with. My question is what is it going to take to turn things around. We have lost 13 out of 15 games. I keep saying it is a cyclical history but man this is getting hard. I tried to explain this to my 5 year old son who will hopefully not have to experience what we have in the last 15 years. Stay positive friends because we all need our mgoblog family right now. Go Blue!

Sorry, but that type of black and white scenario is unnecessary. Freak athletes are not dumb and only blow assignments when they get early playing time as freshmen because they are so athletic. Once they a coached up, they can harness both skill and talent.

If you can't run, then you won't win. Harbaugh has worked some impressive game plans and Rudock has performed over the past month, but it only goes so far until our inability to consistently move the LOS and run with power catches up to us. I, for one, am extremely worn out with making excuses for the Oline. How many years of lackluster play can we take from this position group. As some have mentioned, the lines made the difference in this game, but today did nothing to help our recruiting with big time players. Hope I'm wrong about that but Meyer put an emphatic stamp of dominance on Harbaugh's introduction to this rivalry. It didn't feel like the beginning of a new ten year war...more like a continued pillaging of our weakened village.

This blog has more than it's fair share of angry and impossible to please people.

I sometimes think some of you want us to lose based on how much you seem to enjoy bitching.

We went up against a team that was flat out more talented than us. Those are games teams normally lose

It will take time. It will take talent. And sometimes, it will take a little luck. Time marches on, and talent is marching in. Luck hasn't been on our side.

Next year, with the DL having Glasgow and Mone back, and potentially Gary coming in, we should be better. The OL only loses Glasgow, and should improve. We don't lose Butt, Darboh, or Chesson, our primary receivers. We don't lose Jourdan Lewis or Jabrill Peppers. While we lose a couple of linebackers, that hasn't been the strength of the team anyway. It is critical that Gedeon step up, that at least one of the underclassmen can play, and that we bring in some solid LB's. Hopefully, we have a couple solid RB added to the roster. My point is, we have talent returning, and more talent should be coming in. But this year, we clearly were a step behind in terms of raw talent. Fortunately, OSU and MSU both are losing their best players. (Bosa, Elliot, Cook, among others). The playing field is going to level.

We need to be honest . . . having a 9 - 3 season is a great success in year one.

The fact that Urban is winning with ex Nebraska OC (the same guy who called last weeks game) and Fickell as the DC (yeah same interim coach that could barely beat anyone) shows you that the osu team is full of talent and when Meyer came in found it full of talent, to the brim and he just keeps adding. Its Meyer's 4th year and his teams have been very good and will be very good. In todays CFB you have to cheat to win, period. It took msu 8yrs to get where they are today. So to put things into perspective yes it has been a very long time since we have been relevant but we need to give Harbaugh time and he needs to work his magic. I always thought Jim needs at least 3 yrs to get these programm rolling again.
Watching this years team it is pretty abvious that we have to constantly play against football gods and give it all we have against other teams. I dont know if it is just me but these whole season all B1G teams besides NW have played against us like its their superbowl.

We'll be Champions

I hate this school with so much passion. See, I walk with a walker and have a brain tumor. The two times I have been to Ohio State I have been made fun of for my appearance by not only drunk frats, but people in their thirties as well. That school is a fuckin joke. They have no class and deserve to win no games a year and I wish this upon them every single year. I hope we beat the shit out of them next year.

i love this blog, too, except on days like this when every thread is strewn with "fans" who go on and on abot how much we suck and how we're losers. You know who sucked and was a loser last week? Ohio State. It happens. Today, Ohio State was the better prepared team. But I guess to some that means we are losers who perenially suck. I could do without you guys. I'll take everyone else, though.

Things that I will lean on to try and make me feel better:

  1. MGoBlog
  2. Harbaugh
  3. Jack Daniel's
  4. Recruiting

Not saying this will work or is even rational. But based on my history, I know what I will rely on.
