MGoBlog Fall Survey

Submitted by Tate on

We all have different opinions, which is why I love coming to this site; but I wanted to put together a survey to try and create a collective idea of what we expect come Week 1.

So it's broken down by position, and I just want you to rank the players by what you expect in the upcoming season. Not what we will see Saturday, but who is gonna be where when we play Utah in September. Save the "we have no idea, the season is far away" comments, I know that.

Hope y'all enjoy. If you do, I will have no problem following up with the results a little later.

DISCLAIMER: This survey means absolutely nothing, if the results are different from your own, then this is wrong and you are right.

EDIT: Also rank 1 being the best.

Same here.  Espcially depending on the style they play which is unknown now (like if they try more 3 man lines or 2-gap it could change the personnel).  Plus Mone is a big unkown right now; could be very good, but still a true sophomore NT.  But still, I liked the fact that I was thinking 'man, all these guys could be really good' when ranking the DL.

I found the WRs somewhat hard to rank. There seems to be about 8 guys I could see being the starters.

I don't get putting the true freshman on here.  We have never seen them play 1 down at this level.  A few years ago you'd have Pipkins, Kalis, and Green as #1 or #2 at their position based on HS starz before they played.

Actually, I will admit that I had a little trouble ranking a few of the position groups simply based on a lack of data on some players. I very much doubt we'll get anything Earth-shattering out of Saturday, but I think everyone's "gut reaction" to the roster might be interesting to get here, and then compare those results to the actual "depth chart" (which might not be the depth chart, of course) published a few days before the game. Come to think of it, can we do this again in mid-August to get a recheck on everyone's opinion? That could be interesting too.

After Mason Cole it got pretty sticky. Braden, LTT, Dawson, Kalis, Magnuson, Glasgow, etc. With new coaching, literally anyone could be a starter this year out of the top 10 guys.
