MGoBlog CFB Fantasy league (update - send me an e-mail if you are in)
Would anyone be interested in participating in a college football fantasy league for the MGoBlog community? We could limit it to B1G or P5 conferences or even FBS - my preference would be either B1G or P5 to keep the preparation time manageable.
Ideally, the site would host the league and we could play for points or t-shirts or something like that. If Brian and the team are not interested, I would be ok with setting up a league offsite.
Edit: it seems like we have enough interest to set up a league. If you are in, please send an e-mail to me at [email protected].
game on, i draft all the michigan players to my team
I would be interested..I run a dynasty league with guys from here on yahoo but have never done a college league..This is my chance!
OK. I will go first.
1. Lamar Jackson
But it's not a slam dunk. Nobody has repeated as the Heisman winner in 40+ years and the guys throws a lot of picks - which take away points. He also seemed to get figured out a bit towards the end of the season.
Saquan Barkley, Derrius Guice or Sam Darnold could also go #1. Still, Lamar would be a solid chioice.
Don't forget Baker Mayfield
Especially in a Big12 where the purpose of the Defense is to let the other team score as quickly as possible to get the ball back to your offense.
It's definitely Darnold.
is there a site that does college fantasy or would you have to manually enter in all the eligble players for drafting and manually keep track of the stats for every player in the league?
All of the major sites disbanded their college fantasy programs last year when the NCAA started complaining and state gov'ts started banning college sports from "betting pools".
So that means we would probably to keep track manually, which sucks, but if we keep both the structure and scoring simple (12 teams: 7 players + team DST) it shouldn't be so bad.
We could even use PFF for scoring which would keep the scoring super simple but that would really alter how you draft.
That would be the most epic troll job in history. I can only imagine that hate posts we would get from board police.
That being said, I am one of the few that are looking forward to Draftageddon, should be starting soon!
Would definitely want to be in if there is a spot open
Edit: I know a league that formed here last year used Fantrax. Not sure how customizable their leagues are, but could be worth looking into.
I don't remember a league forming last year, I wonder how I missed that.
Some of the smaller schools have some high point production. It definitely makes the weekday games interesting when you have a player playing. I also would recommend it not being PPR but I guess that is just preference.
