I'm just curious about something....  Does your wife not object to you using her pic as your avatar? It just seems to me like if she is the type that gets upset at you seeing all the pics of boobies, that she'd be enraged that you are showing her pic every time you post.

I'm sort of disappointed I arrived at the party too late to be able to read the comments. I was a little curious as to why your situation wasn't fixable with better scheduling—i.e., don't visit the blog while the kids are up and around—but regardless the response was as predictable as a submarine commander addressing his crew right before a 7-day shore leave and telling them to stay away from girls who aren't churchgoing virgins.

As has been said elsewhere, you know where to find porn. I'm not telling you that's not your right or perogative. Have at it. In fact, some of you who have bragged about your large cajones, why don't you try that during finals or in the UGLi or in your family room. 

I've watched porn in the UGLi before. Sometimes it gets a little lonely around 3-4AM.

I have kids and a teenage daughter.  I have not really noticed much here that would be a problem for her.  Have you been to a high school basketball game lately?  There is a ton of cleavage , short skirts and shorts there.

It's really none of my wife's business what I'm reading as I don't monitor her reading habits on the web either (OMG Shirtless Prison Abs!).  BTW my wife has a Master's degree so it's not like she is a Stepford wife.

I have a home office in Paris (just kidding!) so images at work is not an issue.  

This does strike me as a Politically Correct issue trying to steer content here.  I'd rather have you take your ball and go home if the overall value of the blog does not outweigh the few "bad" pictures.

coming from but even if we did moderate stuff to make it more 'family friendly', where would we draw the line? Girly pictures only? As much as I agree that we could do with out the 'Man stuff'  -I use the term loosely of course- folks that browse this site come all sorts of attitudes and creeds; I think the 'humor' -again, a loose interpretation- revealed in these pictures is a part of what can be expected from this site.

And yes, drawing attention to this matter, definitely a 'doh!' moment...I could see where that thread was going in a heartbeat...actually, I came back to it just to check out what girlie pics were posted in retaliation. :)

...that MGoBoard is trending, I can tell you from experience that the best approach is to write a clear, concise and respectful email to Brian explaining your point of view.  Brian can evaluate your input along with other input and make editorial decisions as he sees fit including providing direction to his mods on how they should conduct themselves.

I have been an almost daily lurker for the last 5 years. Also happen to be female. This thread and the referenced one have finally forced me to create an account. Just wanted to chime in and say that I really appreciated the intention behind the original post, and not just because I am really sick of the asscheek avatar.

In my opinion this site has been one of the best sports sites out there as far as the boys club crap goes. Yeah you get the occasional women suck - boobs are awesome and marriage is death stuff (see latenight btb above) but thats easy enough to ignore. For the most part mgoblogs been a great place to read and learn about football and be an obsessive fan, even if I don't post myself.

I always took pride in the fact that Michigan's premier football blog was classy enough not to have NSFW pictures all over the place. Lately the NSFW content has seemed to increase. Maybe its new posters, maybe its what happens when your team isn't playing well and you need something else to talk about, and maybe its that the Michigan fanbase has finally lost their minds after the last four years. But I have noticed the increase and been turned off by it so I appreciate stephenrkass's appeal. And it bugs me more because I surf this site at work and worry about people seeing my screen than because the NSWF pics hurt me in the feminism, although to be fair both reasons apply.

So if you folks would consider the female fans of this sight when posting NSWF pictures instead of bitching about stephenrkass's marriage or whatever that would be great. If not please go ahead and neg me, bitch about my post format, argue that I am not really female, call me a troll, whatever. Just recognize that there are in fact women who are Michigan football fans who read this site who are annoyed by this stuff.

Reading through all of the comments solidifies why this is not only the best Michigan based Blog, but one of the best Blogs period.

All things that add up to a well rounded experience for the reader.  Of course, you get the junior high response now and again, but it is greatly muted amongst the largely excellent comments.

This site is loaded with very smart people.
These people have a wide variety of beliefs.
Some are not the same as mine or yours.
Some, while slightly NSFW, are very funny and mostly appropriate.
 

About 6 months ago there was a thread about what feature users would like to see most.  Don't know where that went.

Kass's problems reminded me that a text-only version would be really nice for this site and I think it was on the list.  I could use my wifi connection on my phone avoiding work issues and Kass wouldn't look at Boobies that don't belong to his wife.

Especially in regards to bitch slapping and pimp hands. Once upon a time in this country, we had a word we used to describe people possessed of some of the attributes that might be described by "pimp-hand". We called them men.

I appreciate you speaking up despite risk of retaliation in what is probably an overwhelmingly (though not entirely) male forum. I also really like your position. We are here for the sports and hopefully, over time, we end up being here for each other (why can't anonymous co-supporters become friends?). And out of this, more than anything, I think we should prefer you and others like you over ourselves out of respect. I'd rather not see them too.
