Meta: Who are Mgoblog readers?

Submitted by Erik_in_Dayton on

While making a rude joke about mGrowOld's age yesterday*, I found myself wondering about the demographics of the blog.  I also wondered about this in the last day or two when a number of people said they were at Michigan in the late part of the last decade, which struck me as not too long ago to have still been in college...So, do we have information on the age, sex, place of residence, school (Michigan or other), hand orientation (left, right, amphibious), preferred pagan god, etc. of the average Mgoblog reader?  I vaguely remember something that Brian posted saying that we're a bunch of men, but I don't recall much beyond that.

EDIT: See Seth's post below.  One snapshot of the readership showed us to be, speaking very generally, a group of 30-something Eurasian men.  We were reasonably diverse in terms of age, race, income, and having or not having kids.  In terms of gender, we were...not so balanced.

*If it makes you feel better, mGrowOld, you have a lovely wife, while I am left in the same place as Mexican Milhouse.

39, married, 2 daughters, born in East Lansing, live in Iowa now. Big Jesus fan. Didnt go to college, currently work with lasers and robots, its really cool stuff we do. I throw right, can switch hit but I am a dead pull left handed. Can mow with either hand which at my age is more useful. besides UM I enjoy gardening, fishing, hunting, movies. Fun fact: I wear an MSU  stocking cap as an homage to my sister who is no longer with us.

26 years old. Born in Saginaw, grew up with UM parents, moved to Utah, graduated from Utah State University. Hence, the Aggies (former home of now-Wisconsin head coach Gary Anderson). Also, close enough to Salt Lake City to see some good prep football, 2 years ago caught Sione Houma destroying my Alma Mater Mountain Crest Mustangs en route to the 4A state championship, and last night got to see Mone absolutely demolish what was supposed to be the bright spot of a very young MC team. It was a happy sad.

So in case people are compiling dats: 41, M, Ann Arbor, U-M, left, married, daughter, and Thor, of course. (Though Loki is definitely looking more appealing lately, and I've always had a soft place in my heart for Hades. He got screwed.)

63, came from Jersey at a time when Sparty was reigning over the Wolverines. Covered the passing of the torch from Bump to Bo for the Daily. Cried when Mandich was carried off the field -- and again when he passed. Currently a lawyer and baseball writer in DC.

41, lifetime fan.  One of the best moments of my life was seeing Ryan Leaf's final pass fall incomplete as afternoon transitioned to dusk in Pasadena.  So many close calls in the 80's and early 90's and all the disappointment melted away.  Can't wait for the next one...
