Meta: Who are Mgoblog readers?

Submitted by Erik_in_Dayton on

While making a rude joke about mGrowOld's age yesterday*, I found myself wondering about the demographics of the blog.  I also wondered about this in the last day or two when a number of people said they were at Michigan in the late part of the last decade, which struck me as not too long ago to have still been in college...So, do we have information on the age, sex, place of residence, school (Michigan or other), hand orientation (left, right, amphibious), preferred pagan god, etc. of the average Mgoblog reader?  I vaguely remember something that Brian posted saying that we're a bunch of men, but I don't recall much beyond that.

EDIT: See Seth's post below.  One snapshot of the readership showed us to be, speaking very generally, a group of 30-something Eurasian men.  We were reasonably diverse in terms of age, race, income, and having or not having kids.  In terms of gender, we were...not so balanced.

*If it makes you feel better, mGrowOld, you have a lovely wife, while I am left in the same place as Mexican Milhouse.

23, male, Grand Rapids. Full-time factory worker, part-time GVSU student, lifelong Michigan fan. Married 2 years as of Tuesday. Left-handed.

Fun Factoid: attended Michigan Football Camp between 8th and 9th grade as a 5'7", 150lb linebacker.

Camp Highlights: had a PBU on some really fast RB who wore untied red Chuck Taylors. He was making everyone else look a fool on short routes. This single moment of luck gritty greatness had no impact on my poor depth chart standing, however.

as much as finding a way to a) get the content down to a shorter version, which is the hardest part and b) finding a way to publish it within the constraints of the site (which regardless of ease wouldn't be modified for this feature) that got the author and the profilee their due. Going with a diary including a list of names or a forum topic for what should be a featured piece isn't ideal for anyone.

Older brother was a die hard Michigan fan when I was about 5 years old. Rubbed off on me and my younger brother, and we've been pissing off OSU fans ever since. Went to 2 different Ohio schools because I didn't want to be a Buckeye. However, after spending 45k for one semester at a private school, I realized I was being dumb and finished my marketing degree at OSU. To this day I've never stepped foot in Ohio stadium. MgoBlog is in my toolbar, and I read probably 3-4 times a day. GO BLUE!

Married to an awesome Mgowife. 2 kids, incl one who is applying to Michigan this year. Live in Switzerland. While in Europe have watched games in Italy, Germany and (of course) at the Zurich Hooters--that last place more than once. Taught my dog to pee when he hears the word "Buckeye.". Have convinced hundreds of Europeans that Ohio is the place where we incarcerate our worst offenders, so they shouldn't go there. Plan to move back to Boulder soon. Left handed, and totally left brained.

Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- Ihighly suggest you try it.
