Meta: Viewing MGoBlog at Work
Quick question: What is the MGoCommunity's go to method for covertly reading MGoBlog content during the workday? I like to take a 10 minute break every day to view the blog and catch up, but...
My situation:
- In an office/cube environment, with medium-heavy traffic behind me without a privacy screen.
- Can't spend too much time on the phone to read via the iOS app.
- Having MGoBlog up with all of its beautiful maize and blue, Har-BAUGH banner, and images draws too much attention.
Should we fundraise for a "panic" button which minimizes the window?
Is there a plain-text/monochrome/generic version of the site I could utilize during the work day (but doesn't deprive the MGoStaff of ad revenue?

i know, right?
Good thing I'm brilliant enough that I need about 3 hours to do what takes most people 8.

I read MGoBlog for about 6 hours a day, the 1 of actual work, then 1 of messing around with co-workers.

I take a bathroom break about once an hour to check MGoBlog...plus I have IBS but that's a topic for another day.

My secret is that the blog is viewed on my personal laptop, which I use to support a lot of the work that I do for work anyway, and as the WiFi here is - oddly enough - fairly open, it works out well. For those who wonder how I can actually competently mod (OK, well, mod - some may disagree on the "competently" part) during the day, it is because A) this is a 5-bar connection to a network that is microwave since it ties into a dispatch system, and B) I run Excel here and can cover up with meeting notes and spreadsheets at a moment's notice.

I'm currently browsing from a similar environment. I use Chrome in conjunction with a browser extension named "Decreased Productivity"

I have an office with with my monitors back to the glass wall. Plus privacy screen. I'm sure somewhere my IT area is tracking my itnernet usage but so far I've never gotten a talking to. When I need to watch porn I just use my phone.

Work really hard to get promoted and become the Boss and then make it acceptable to browse and read MGoBlog.
That's what I (sort of) did ...and I do have fun with the loser "Dame" fan who works for me who is constantly on some ND message board. Sometimes I will abruptly pop out of my office just to see him quickly grab the mouse to minimize his window..

I close the office door. Also, I work from home 50% of the time.

Not a perfect solution, but for 100% secure viewing just copy the text to a word document and then read unmolested. It will just look like you're reading something a co-worker sent you, or even better, that you're writing something yourself.

I minimize the screen to the width of the whie center and put it into the lower corner. No masthead and no borders, white on white doesn't stand out. Since when you minimize it the left border is still visable you can move the slider at the bottom. This allows you to size it to the white but still have acccess to the side borders when you want them.

A few ideas:
1. Get promoted; move into private office.
2. Start own business.
3. Quit; travel the rails from Lincoln to New Brunswick.
4. Mumble loudly and constantly about hostile work environment.
5. Acknowledge addiction; seek company sponsored treatment.

When I go to MgoBlog now on my PC at work I get flagged with a message where I have to put in a work purpose for visiting the site. That is BS.
They locked down the WiFi now so my personal owned tablet is out. That is BS.
My only phone is a work phone so no phone access. That is BS.
Three strikes and I'm out until I get home : (

I work in an ICU, and my boss just texted "everything ok?"
My answer?:
"yea, just reading MGoBlog."
Guess I'm lucky
