META: Verified user flags?

Submitted by MikeCohodes on

So I was thinking, now that Martavious Odoms has become an occasional contributor to the forums, and we have also seen posts from the Zoltan Mesko Foundation on here as well, I had a thought for a site improvement for the offseason.  Twitter has a process where they flag an account as a "verified" account to show that the celebrity is truly who they claim to be on Twitter and not an imposter.  Maybe there can be a way we can do this for the blog for those types of users?  Who knows, maybe some other former players will come forward and start contributing to the blog as well?

Thoughts?  Is this a waste of time because there are so few former players on here?  Or will this maybe encourage more past players to show up and be on here?

I'm not sure if I want people treating me differently just because I'm Tom Brady, but if you have to give me a verified thingy then I guess I'll live with it.

I have always believed that there was no evidence to support that CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS AT SMU. If you look at the facts the story is highly unlikely that CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKER AT SMU. So in conclusion I don't think CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS AT SMU.

Watched the afternoon games after the M/Minny game at this bar near the stadium with fearless leader and some mutual friends.  Brian kept saying I'm not a real person, that I'm actually "a cartoon character".

I am, in fact, a real person. =)
