META: UM Bar Locator and Shameless Charlottesville watching party self plug
I've posted to the Michigan bar locator thread a request to add our local (Charlottesville, VA) game watching party to "Michigan Bar Locator" google map.
I also posted on the map itself a request to add our local host bar, "The Livery Stable," to the map. As far as I can tell, it's been over a year since someone updated the map.
So two questions:
1.) Is it possible to make it so that people can update this map themselves?
2.) If no, can someone who is able please add
The Livery Stable
120 Old Preston Ave
Charlottesville, VA 22902
Mods, sorry if this belongs in the Michigan Bar Locator thread. Honestly, I was just hoping for some front page time because last year we actually found a person or two from the mgoblog thread that I made about our group. As this is game week, feel free to move/delete the thread.
Any CVille folks - The Livery Stable is on the downtown mall, and they have been really nice hosts for us for the past year. Their website says they open at 5p, but don't believe it! They open just for us whenever the UM game starts.
Join the facebook group 'Watch Michigan Football in Charlottesville' to get updates and reminders that we are meeting.

I think that there is a collaboration feature for Google Maps which allows anyone signed into Google to edit a map, but it would have to be shared via that feature. The way it appears - and the creator of the list can feel free to correct me - it is not, but then the original pass at this was made long before the current version of Google Maps, so there might not have been such functionality then.

In the "classic" maps, you identify and invite specific individuals as collaborators. Given that the map indicates only 2 collaborators, that means nobody else will be able to edit the map.

That's kind of what I figured, thanks. Is there any way to 'copy' the map?

I promised the wife I would take her to Put-in-bay for her birthday on saturday. Any places where I will be able to watch the game and I won't be thrown out on my head for requesting to put it on?

Mr. Eds has flat screens behind the bar. I went there a few weekends ago.

Is this an every game meetup? I can't make it out for Appy St but I'm in Richmond and would definitely come out for Miami-Ohio or Utah if you guys do it for one of those as well. My attempts to get a watch party going in RVA have been for naught.

The watch party site for Richmond is Gus' Bar & Grill, 2701 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23220.

I've never seen more than like 3 people at any Gus' event. Heck, I went once and the game wasn't even on!
The national title game was the only time I saw any sort of real meet up at Gus'. I'll give it another try if you say its improved significantly.

I was down in Richmond for a conference a couple of years ago and went to Bailey's. It was me and two other guys watching the Michigan game on a bigscreen.
On a positive note, they had Bell's Two-Hearted, and cute waitstaff.
Oh and if someone does have the ability to edit the map, please add
3410 11th St NW, Washington, DC
Will maybe be there for AppyState, if it isn't going to rain on the coast Sunday. Otherwise will be watching the game somewhere in Rehoboth, DE.

On our best days, we get about a dozen. But it's usually about half that. The good news is the livery stable is tiny, so even if only 6 show, we are still the main crowd in the bar (or just have the place to ourselves).
The M game will always be on, and the bartenders like us.

I joined the FB group, will make it out to one of the games I'm not attending this season.

Instead of maintaining a separate watch party site list here, why not just link to the alumni club website at http://alumni.umich.edu/connect/gamewatchingparties?
They update the site on an on-going basis. Email Will Dorchak [email protected] with your updates.

ChiBlueBoy is moving to Knoxville, TN. Anyone know of a good place, or any place, to watch UofM in a city adorned with a heinous shade of orange?
Any suggestions on a potential change of moniker?
