meta: some minor board updates

Submitted by Brian on

1. Most of the stickies can now be found on the front page under the "MGoBoard" link.

2. I've removed a couple, both of which are linked in the FAQ. With a competent WYSIWYG in place ShockFX's html primer is less critical and the premium info policy is now just taking up space.

3. The FAQ has been updated about offtopic material. It's basically the same as before but with greater emphasis on on-topic posts during the season. Items about Michigan, Ann Arbor, the Big Ten, and future opponents/past opponents are always on topic. Discussion about other college sports is encouraged to a certain extent as well, and pro sports threads will be tolerated as long as they are not too frequent.

During the season everything else is liable to be removed. If it's on par with a C-Rex opus of awesomeness it obviously won't, but anything that's just clutter will probably get axed. We'll start enforcing this policy the week before the season. It will lift after the bowl game.

Because there totally will be one.

Would you mind adding former players to a category? It's generally accepted that they are on-topic, but we still see o slew of OT prefixes. It would be nice if that was clear in the FAQ.

1.  For putting so much work into maintaining a great blog.

2.  Allowing C-Rex level awesomeness, because his life is way more interesting than mine.

3.  Handing down the decree of the bowl game.  This pleases me.

Come on, a REASONABLE person expects 12-1 with a victory over some joke PAC-10 team in the Rose Bowl in preparation for the first of Robinson's consecutive Heisman seasons (Forcier is runner-up).

Only a lunatic would expect a national title!

On a weekend by weekend basis, I'm thinking you may want a few OT threads if, perchance, we lose a game (since you've predicted 5 of those weekends). A Board of solely football talk after a loss could be...painful. But this is not a hill I'm dying on.

can you add a "report bad post" feature which can be used to report abusive posts?  For instance, this new user "belle" is all over the freakin' place posting for his/her/its "cheap authentic jerseys" website which is probably 1) a huge privacy risk and 2) a spam magnet.  You can specify that it has to be used to report posts which are abusive or don't other conform to board rules (eg, spam, personal insults, religion/politics, etc).
