Look, I get it. You're pissed. I'm pissed EVERYONE is pissed. Nothing is going well. Everything is horrible. We get it. But people need to calm the eff down.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Personal attacks on other posters will be treated with extreme prejudice. This goes for long-time posters as well. Call another poster something that a 3rd grader couldn't get away with, and you're going to the penalty box.
  • Unnecccesarily personal attacks on players/coaches will be treated likewise. "Devin has really struggled this month" is fine. "Devin sucks" is not. Saying "fuck [Player/Coach X]" will result in an instaban.
  • Posts that just whine will be deleted (see: "This offense is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!11").
  • Posts that just offer an opinion on long-standing debates will be deleted (see: "I think Michigan should fire Al Borges")
  • Repeat offenders will be Bolivianed through bowl season.

None of these are new rules. But consider yourselves warned: Captain Insane-o shows no mercy. Tempt the ban-hammer at your own peril.

In short: KNOCK IT OFF, or be cast upon by the wrath of the mods. We are under martial law. There is no presumption of innocence, no due process, and no First Amendment. The use of unneccesary force in the apprehension of trolls has been authorized.

Borges is the most wonderful offensive coach I have ever seen in college football. Words cannot express the sincere gratitude I have for the way he has taken a team I love to heights I could have never imagined. The creativity of his offense makes Michelangelo seem an ordinary man. A life time contract would not do justice to someone of his ability.

I watched The Good Wife last night. The episode revolved around a website where people were accusing others of doing bad things. Alicia went to court to get an injunction to take down the thread. As soon as the thread was taken down, a new one popped up in it's place. The key to her winning her case was proving that the Scabbit.com moderators were employees of the website. Another interesting item from the episode is that they talked about a robo-poster, who was not an actual person. They just took comments others made and made similar comments on other sites to drive traffic to scabbit. Who do we know on this site that is like that? (see above. EDIT: I meant RDT, not Magnus)

I, of course, thought of this blog.

It's about damned time.

I'd like to add one additional item to the list of things that get immediate banhammering:

"MIchigan is (the usual implausible, idiotic name)'s dream job!"

I know things are looking bad, but there has been improvement. It was pointed out in the Iowa game, some blitzes and shifts that were not picked up against MSU and NEB, were handled against Iowa. The team isn't were we'd all like to think it should be, but were going into "the Game" at 3-8 or 5-6. Yeah we may draw a lower tier bowl, but it's extra practice and time for issues to be focused on.

What's with this, does the Athletic Department have you guys by the pants?

Good luck maintaining this message Saturday when half the posters are drunk and everyone is angry.

I recently attacked a fellow user in a particularly idiotic way.  The struggles of the teams and - much more than that - various other non-Michigan things got to me.  This was very dumb, and I apologize.

I suggest people do the following:  Ask yourself whether what you are posting contributes anything (humor, insight, etc.).  Ask yourself whether what you are posting is obviously negative and caustic.  Ask yourself whether what you are posting is not heavy-handed in its negatively but none-the-less contributes in a small way that adds to the negativity of the board - one of the tiny ripples of negativity that creates great waves of it.

It's very possible that you and others have nothing to post - and I include myself in that.  The inescapable fact here is that we are a group of adults whose moods are linked to the comings and goings of 18-21 year old kids.  This is fundamentally absurd, and the blog is built on that absurdity, so there is often nowhere to go but down.  A very good question is whether one simply shouldn't visit the blog at all.
