Meta -- Is O$U now acceptable post-tatgate? Mods: "NO!"

Submitted by ForestCityBlue on

Over the years one of the things would get posters neg-banged is the use of O$U.  Now that we are in a post tatgate world, is it acceptable to use O$U?

Mod Edit: The answer is no. Locked to halt the descent into flames. [zl]

Nope, still no good.  Please reserve the dollar sign for monetary identifications and references to crummy blonde singers who fight until they see the sunlight.

I use tsio in general and don't even think about it anymore. The real question is whether I say it in verbal communication. Which is 50/50.

Honestly, I don't get the whole nickname thing.  What, you're too much of a superfan to sully your lips (keys?) with MSU, or OSU?  Honestly, I think that attempting to denigrate them with creative nicknames is just putting in more effort than they deserve.  Let MSU have scUM and OSU fans their M*ch*gan or whatever.  We're above it.

By the way, I checked out the "Michigan Football" facebook page, and some of the comments on their statuses are rife with nicknames no classy UofM fan should ever use.  Yeesh.

It pisses me off when I see every State fan use the words scUM or Walvie so I don't think Michigan fans should use terms like O$U towards them.  I'll admit that it's sometimes tempting to use the terms Suckeyes or F*ckeyes but it's not in good taste.
