It works. Would like more colors as previously stated It also doesn't inform the masses about where it's posted from. (this is from the iPad)

I can look into this.  It might be a little easier on the ipad due to the added space.

It's still a little awkward, since you have to go switch to Safari, copy the address, then go back to the app.  If people are willing to do all that, I can probably put in the proper html tags to make it work.

Elaydin,

First, appreciate you dropping a univeral version of the app.  Huge improvement on the iPad.

One feature that would be helpful would be to allow the user to swap the color scheme, i.e., change to white text on black background (and vice versa).   The Kindle app for iPad has this feature and it is extremely beneficial in certain settings, e.g., when you're reading MGoBlog in bed and you don't want to illuminate the entire room.  Not that I would ever do such a thing, ahem, but it might just save a few marriages.

From the same menu, the Kindle app also allows the user to change the text size which may also be helpful for some people, particularly those whose eyesight aint what it used to be.  Again, not me...but other people.

Cheers.

I do have the "larger font" option in the login menu.

I could make a bunch of different "schemes" and have the user select one.

Or better yet, in app purchases for new skins!!  (just kidding)

I also have the option to go back to the old format on the iphone version.

Ok, would never have thought about font size option in login, but thanks for the info.   If you add some other user-configurable features, might make sense to break that out as a separate menu option in the Main Navigation.

Would definitely appreciate some color scheme options, definitely the black background / white text and perhaps some variant of maize and blue.

In terms of in-app purchases, I'm glad you're kidding, but on a serious note I'd be willing to pay a buck or two for an ad-free version of the app.   That said, the ads really are not particularly intrusive and I know the click-thrus provide a revenue stream for the blog.

Is the new app going to allow us to have "Posted from iPad" in our subject line?  If not, it really should.  I want everyone to know that I'm using an iPad just like people bragging about using their iPhones.

After posting a reply you are automatically sent back to the top of the thread, which can be annoying
<br>
<br>No avatars
<br>
<br>In the user account "past comments" thing, it only sends you to the post, not the specific comment.
<br>
<br>These are very minor and they do not prevent me from spending every waking non computer hour here.

The first one annoys me too.  What happens is that I reload the entire thread after a reply (to pick up the new reply).  As a result, you end up at the top.

The lack of avatars is for space/bandwidth saving on the phone.  I might try adding it to the ipad since those aren't as big concerns.

Great job elaydin on continuing to improve the app. If I had any criticism of the update so far it would be that the graphic design of the app isn't nearly as strong as the original. And thanks for keeping the app bandwidth friendly as I can surf the site when I have spotty coverage/poor wifi connection.

really?  I thought the original looked kinda crappy, since I didn't spend much time on the asthetics (wanted to get it out by the start of the season).  I think "thread" screen looks  a lot more like the real site now, and the everything else looks cleaner and more unified.

I also wanted to make the "home" screen and the topic listing screen look similar.  Before they had completely different color schemes.

Sorry, I could have been more clear earlier.I think that overall size, fonts, etc look and function very well on the updated app. It is the color scheme that is a step in the wrong direction in my opinion. I think that the app logo is great and the intro graphic is great as well but the chrome blue and brushed stainless steel look just aren't as clean to me. Also I think that newspaper, chalkboard, etc icons in the main menu are fine but aren't necessary graphically.( I have to warn you that I am a helvetica loving minimalist to the core!) Minor nitpicking aside great work and if you/Brian could profit from a $5-10 add-free app I would buy it in a heart beat.
