Meta: Just like everyone else...I need a fix!

Submitted by BigTex on

It's the middle of the week.  Work has me going in about 20 different directions.  Spring football practices are over.  And yes, I am in serious need of some Michigan football videos to keep up my enthusiasm.

Whenever I need a quick pick-me-up I check out the Capital One Bowl highlights (it never gets old), but I would like to know which videos you think are the best for the upcoming year.  I know WolverineHistorian always has some good ones, but I am sure there are quite a few that I haven't seen in my searches on YouTube.

Any suggestions?

I keep an album of DVDs by the TV/DVD player in my kitchen. When I'm cooking, I usually have a game playing. I can usually watch them in small bursts if I'm eating alone or just doing a quick meal. It's not like I don't know how it ends.

Last night, I watched the first half of the 1997 Colorado-Michigan game. Would've watched the second half, but the file is corrupt on MGoVideo. Grr. The 1997 Penn State game is a great one.

The 2000 UM-OSU game is always fun. So is the 1991 game against Notre Dame. In fact, the other day, I was watching that one and noticed something in the background.

When Howard makes that incredible diving grab for a touchdown, very clearly in the background, you can see a guy with a mullet, a moustache straight from the Thomas Magnum School of Facial Hair, a pink t-shirt tucked into acid-washed denim shorts. White socks pulled up to the mid-calf completed the "Sweet Jesus What Was I Thinking??" ensemble.

I usually avoid mocking the folks from the 70s for their fashion tastes. It was a national problem. But while mullets, bad 'staches, and acid-washed denim certainly pocked the landscape of my high school days, this guy really went above and beyond.

That's one way to get noticed in a crowd 20 years later.

We destroyed them.  This is the source of all subsequent Yakkety-Sax.

I particulatrly enjoy Jerome "The Bus" Bettis pucker-factor as the game went on as well as the pregame Wies nonsence.

ND game last year, MSU games (Braylon Fest)  The Michigan - Texas Rose Bowl game was a phenomenal game, Stevie. B kept us in it... we missed winning it by inches.

EDIT: I forgot to include Wisconsin in 2008.  Say what you want about that year, but golly, that game featured one of the most improbable come backs of all time.

I'm actually trying to block out a space of time next week to rewatch the entire 1997 season.  Of course, the challenge will be finding the entire 1997 season somewhere.  Either way, I plan to act as if it is happening now and cry like a little baby at the end.

MGoJen, sorry for the bad thoughts I was thinking towards you while watching the first half of the Utube Video.  I am not proud of what was spoken under my breath.  But then, the sun came out, I heard birds singing, the sound of children playing, and all was right with the world.  My disdain turned to joy, and my cursings turned into blessings.  Thanks

I saw "Wednesday Recruitin" on the main page, and tried coming back a minute later and it was gone. In terms of "needing my fix", this is similar to someone sitting in front of a liquor store teasing bums with a dollar bill on a string.

What I do is always just go to WolverineHistorian's channel and look for my favorite games. The ones I normally watch are the 2008 Capital One Bowl Game, 2003 and 2004 Michigan State, 2003 Ohio State, and the whole 1997 season.
