META: HTTV $2,360 from Print BBall/Hockey Edition
What it says in the title. Sure, an E-Book preview of Hockey and Basketball would be sweet, but there are definitely a few problems with E-Books. E-Books don't fit on the shelf all awesome letting people know that you get your analysis from MGoBlog. E-Books are way more expensive to throw down in disgust when you disagree with the analysis.
Basketball is coming off the best season since...? (1989?) Hockey is starting a new era with the B1G Hockey conference. I'd rather have those captured in print than just in bytes. There's a week left in the Kickstarter, if you haven't bought yours yet, go for it and let's get the print copies of the Hockey/Basketball preview made.
CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Sorry to highjack...
WAYS YOU CAN HELP!
- If you haven't yet pledged, pledge already! Out of shear guilt, do it! MGoBlog is free, and its content is better than any pay site out there. It's the least you can do.
- Increase your pledge! This goes especially for those who just ordered the football magazine. Your basketball team is coming off a Final Four and National Championship Game appearance. Don't be cheap.
- If you want to send a copy as a gift, create another kickstarter account so you can put in a separate pledge.
That's it for my ideas. If anyone else knows what we can do to reach the goal, please share.
...want to compare the tone of Brian's basketball and hockey analyses in the wake of the 2012-13 seasons? Can't wait.
I was dragging my feet but I just put in an order for both. Would love to see a printed copy of the basketball/hockey book in my mailbox come fall.
I asked this as a question via Kickstarter several weeks ago, but never got an answer. Anyone know how I can select TWO of each magazine as my reward? I'll donate the requisite $60. I think last year we were contacted by email to pick our reward, but this time around there are actual buttons to click...
Make a 2nd kickstarter account?
Not a terrible idea, but then Brian has to pay for shipping twice :(
I sent Brian an email asking this same question. I want to send another copy as a gift. Your best bet is creating another kickstarter account OR ordering directly from Underground Printing, which will have it for sale as well. I highly suggest the prior, since it gets us closer to the $50k goal.
Exactly - my second copy is a gift. Thanks, I'll just create the second account.
Keep the money and establish an HTTV trust fund so we don't need to scrounge together $30k every year.
just did my part - 50 for the books and a shirt.
At this point, I think it's a lock that the print hoops/hockey preview gets funded. If memory serves, there was a pleding frenzy during the last 12 hours of the Kickstarter drive last year and we have less than $1700 to go and a week to get there.
At this point, with a week still to go, I'm wondering if we can't crack the $60K mark.
When I got it 5-6 days ago it was above $49K and then the next day it dropped down to $45K.

Finally paid my share.

Don't Brian and Seth have an incentive for this thing to end at $49,999? I mean, from a pure profit standpoint, $49,999 is a lot better in their eyes than $50,000.
