In a great feat of not paying attention to my wife, I managed to be surprised by a birthday copy of Three and Out, despite the fact that she asked me for its title several times in the days leading up to my birthday. In addition, and not at all to emphasize that she makes way more money than I do, she gave me a note for an MGoBlog donation of some yet-to-be-determined amount. I don't know how much to tell her to donate, so I thought I'd put it out there for the MGoCommunity to weigh in. (Please keep in mind that, while she is outearning me like its the alternate reality 50s, neither of us is making bank, so keep it reasonable.)
Meta: How Beveled Is Your Guilt?, or How Guilty Are Your Bevels?
To properly address your question I'm going to need to see a pic of your wife.
Just pretend it's Mrs. Kass and go from there.
Intrigued by this milksteak of yours. How might I acquire one?
Can it be boiled-over hard?
the jelly beans!
If he pays everyone in milksteaks, he must be one hell of a fullonrapist.
I think Hoke has changed the tide on donations. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe in beveled guilt. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling milksteaks is a good start.
I think you have one heck of a wife, the book is cool cause it is your team but money to a great site she really cares. she is a keeper for sure.
but I'm tired. Look at the cost of a Rivals or Scout subscription and then pay that or pay double that, depending on how much you think this site is worth compared to a paid site.
I wonder if Scout or Rivals would allow subscribers to pay in milksteaks?
buying a wedding ring, 3 months salary should do.
This is pointless. No one knows how much money you can afford to give.
nobody gives "what they can afford" to anything. plus the suggestions to pay roughly what rivals/scout would cost are actually useful.
I thought he got paid in laughs.
Tacopants head shall suffice.
Whatever you feel comfortable giving, really. I'm sure it is all appreciated so don't sweat it too much. $50 - $100 seems about right.
I'd give a $100 because Rivals and ESPN insider are about that a year
Give whatever you can afford.
You have not been getting your ESPN Insider from the same guy I have.
From Jeremy the guy in the parking lot with the t-bird right? Wait, you're saying I've been buying knockoffs? Shiiiiiiiiiiiit
I thought this was going to be another thread from ProfitGoBlue talking, not so subtley, about how he gives money to the blog.
Dude... you want us to tell you how much to donate? Why don't you just donate?
Let me get this straight...
a) your wife is a sugar momma who recognizes and honors your love for Michigan football
b) she wants to share her largesse with Brian, and, ergo, the mgoblog community
c) you don't pay attention to her
Jon, please, open your eyes before it's too late!
Donate your wife.
Your left kidney or first born child.
Last year I gave Mgoblog and zerohedge $100 each. I will also be giving before the year is out.
As far as I am concerned if the internet consisted of only those two sites I would be set.
Think about it this way - you should be paying the sites that you value about the same as you would be paying the hardcopy media that they are replacing...
Annual WSJ sub = 2.29/wk ~ $120
Annual SI = $48
Annual daily NYT = $385
Annual USA Today = $130
Annual Freep = $85
What is this 'Freep' you speak of?
Does that get me the opportunity to possibly read the blog next year?
I highly reccommend you take a momant to consider my letter before making such payment to your mgoblahg. My name is Sumi Kimbawana, and was quite acquaintable with your dear uncel Brain. If you must make payment to such mgobog, I must let you know that Brain is currently with me and needs wire transfer of exactly the amount you were planning to donate, to return to the land from which he was born. Please reply to me at your most urgent hour so that we can set up the payment immediattly.
Does anyone ever fall for these?
I am a law enforcement dispactcher (fancy term for the dude on the radio) and we get calls almost daily of people getting scammed anywhere from $100 - $40,000 from multiple variations of the Nigerian prince scam. A fool and his money......
I would've said $50, but now that I've read people's breakdowns of what other news/sports magazines cost, I'm thinking $100.
Or one hundred trillion dollars in Zimbabwe currency, whatever is funnier.
Best post ever!
Just buy Brian a pen and notepad so Rosenberg will answer his questions.
Everyone who buys Three and Out should buy it through Brian's Amazon link. That way, you get the book for what is probably the best pirce, and Brian gets a buck or two for his hard work. It would be pretty cool if about 3,000 of us all bought Three and Out and maybe another book or two through his link.
I would really like to see a permanent Amazon affiliate link somewhere on the site. Maybe it could be part of the beveled guilt tab. If we habitually did our Amazon shopping through his link, it would be a win-win situation for everyone involved.
We would get cool stuff at great prices, and Amazon would make the donation.
she said she tried to buy the book through the site but didn't see the link in the amount of time she was willing to look. maybe i should email him about that...
Now I feel like a douche because I didn't realize that said link existed. Just bought it like an hour ago too.
I was going to get the book today, I like your idea. I feel like an idiot though, I don't see the link to Amazon on the site...
A generic referral link to Amazon can always be found under the About > $upport (lol) tab above.
I ordered it. Really looking forward to it -- at least parts of it. Some of it will no doubt be very painful.
Donate to firstname.lastname@example.org thru PayPal as a gift. Any amount would really be a benefit to a writer to really cover the M team! Go Blue!
The bevel of my guilty is directly proportionate to the heat of my meat.
I understand "guilt," but why is it "beveled"? I have been perplexed about the origin of the term "beveled guilt" for as long as I have been following the blog, and I have not found an explanation for it anywhere on the site (FAQ, etc.).
Can anyone help me out?
Beveled refers to the graphic of the "Make A Donation" button on the home page, with its beveled edges.
Really? Okay, thanks.
That's the right amount.
