META: Annoyance Week request

It's Little Brother Week here in the state of Michigan, and as many of you know, this week draws the Sparty trolls out from the dark recesses of the RCMB. And like the swallows of Capistrano, they flock to this board, start shitting on everything, and make a bunch of noise without expressing a single coherent thought.

You will be tempted to engage them. You will be tempted to debate them. This is futile. You can't debate a Spartan troll any more than you can debate floor tile. And we're not talking the nice slate tile; we're talking the shiny trucker rest stop floor tile. Instead, I humbly request that you report their presence to the Moderator Action Sticky thread (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/moderator-action-sticky-1), and we will take appropriate action.

And to you Sparty trolls, I'd just like to remind you that there are a number of interesting SPAM lists to which one could potentially be signed up. So unless one relishes the prospect of sifting through a dozen needlepoint newsletters every day, methinks you should take this week off.

[EDIT - PGB:  If I might add, the flip-side is also true.  Please avoid starting "hate" threads that just get people all ramped up and make the Board look second-rate.  You stay classy, San Diego!]

We find out a lot about our team this weekend.  Even though the spread is M -10.5, I am hoping for a 3 TD + beatdown of Little Brother.   I know we have the talent and the coaching to pull this off.  The only thing that worries me is our coaching staff wasn't spending damn near an entire year planning on how to beat their instate rival.  Dantonio, on the other hand, has been doing this for the last 6 years.

I didn't go to either school (Michigan shirt is from Meijer thank you). I did spend a year and a half at U of M Flint during Lloyd's last 2 seasons which is where my allegiance is for argument with Spartys. Had I gone to MSU I couldn't imagine not being a wolverine fan. Ready for this game and hoping we are solid on every snap.

Maybe the mods and op shouldn't ask for us to be classy, while starting a thread perpetuating the little brother meme that is over played, over used and frankly disrespect to them. I am not defending msu fans, I am simply saying that you can't have it both ways, and calling them little brother then making demands that we stay above board and respectful seem back handed at best.

I don't respect Michigan State. Between the Gholston neck-twist reaction, the Gholston "oh, he just had the wind knocked out of him" reaction, and the entire existence of Glenn Winston, I have absolutely no respect for anything Mark Dantonio has ever done.

So, I'm not necessarily asking people to pay homage to our great and worthy opponent. I'm just asking that people not fan the almost inevitable flame wars.

As for the Little Brother meme... well, I don't know what to tell you. Everything you see out of East Lansing just screams sibling rivalry, and we're older. So...

You have to remember one former mod DID do that and enough people seemed onboard that it can give the wrong idea I know how much work you guys do though so good on you all the same. Just remember caved postings show up on mobile so ban more aggressively

Being in a high school where it's 85-90% spartan fans you have no idea how much Saturday means to me. After 4 years of listening to their mindless bullshit I want this game to be an absolute embarassment to their program and fans.
