Meta: All Hail and Praise to MgoMods

Sometimes I hate people. Sometimes is almost all the time.

                                                                        - Brian Cook, March 19, 2012

Reading some of the threads at mgoblog, I can begin to understand Mr. Cook's sentiments. In light of this, I want to hail and praise and thank the moderators of mgoblog. Recently, some threads have started to degenerate. And no, this has nothing to do with bewbs. It has to do with stupid, mindless, irritating, trolling, time-wasting posts. I had almost forgotten why I came to mgoblog in the first place. It was to avoid endless threads elsewhere (Mlive?) with virtually no real content or news or analysis or commentary. The moderators here protect us, and we are often clueless of our protectors.

(from a gloss explaining rangers in Lord of the Rings.) They secretly guarded and protected Eriador which included the Shire unbeknowst to its people from spies and invaders.

This explanation of rangers, including Strider/Aragorn, provides a good description of the moderators. They have an often thankless task. They guard and protect the realm of mgoblog, (often) unbeknowst to its people, from spies and invaders. Policing threads and deleting posts, administering the banhammer, occasionally participating in discussion, makes this one of the best blogs ever.

I want to single out BISB (Blue no longer in South Bend) and mgoprofit. There are others, who are in the background, and I want to thank you too.

I salute, thank, praise, and honor all of you who serve as moderators.

...as I think the moderators here are far too sensitive and censor the boards too much.   I really don't mind random trolling & all the other garbage that gets washed up on the internet...just seems like par for the course to me.

But, then again, it's there website so, like, you know.

We follow the general instructions of the proprietor of this here webthingy, which are that trolls and non-civil debate are verboten. I think part of the reason the blog is so popular is that we avoid a lot of that crap. It may be par for the course, but this is Michigan fergodsakes.

If there's ever something you don't feel should have been deleted, we're happy to discuss.

you had me interested until you brought up lord of the rings, then your post just turned into one of those worthless, useless threads you were complaining about.

Whenever I sign in and view threads, all of them are "greyed out" except ones that have a score of 3 or more.  Can anyone tell me why this is?

(I obviously don't want to make this a brand new thread)

It is always interesting to read people’s opinions of what the MGoCommunity means to them but it is way better to read people ripping into that opinion.
