Mention of a Mascot in the UM/Alabama Contract (Commence Panic)

Submitted by goblue7612 on

In this annarbor.com article regarding the contract signed for the UM/Alabama game there is this gem of a quote.

http://www.annarbor.com/news/michigan-football-teams-2012-opener-agains…

"The U-M marching band will receive free entry and reserved seating. U-M cheerleaders, dance team and mascots will also receive free entry."

Do you think this is a contingency plan or that there is a legitimate possibility of a mascot (or multiple mascots) unveiled in the opening game next year?

Let the meltdown begin.

Alabama's two mascots:

1) That Elephant (which makes no sense to me, and I don't care to know why it does).

2) The Douchebag (aka - Nick Saban gets free admission)

I don't know. . . . that says mascotS plural. I think there will be a whole team of mascots for Michigan. Fuzzy critters shooting t-shirts into the crowd, doing the macarena and whatnot.

One of them will be the Noid, the loveable critter from the 1990's who embodies all that is special and unique about Michigan Football. Also, each T-Shirt will function as a coupon for a free Mac-N-Cheese flavor Bread Bowl Pasta*.

* - Carryout only. Must be wearing T-Shirt at the time of pickup to redeem. Redeemable only at Ann Arbor-area Domino's restaurants. Expires 9/3/12.

What is this you say about....

MICHIGAN DANCE TEAM?

Is there one?  Any photos and videos?  Stats and bios?  Turn ons & turn offs?

If we are getting a crappy mascot, at least we're getting it along with a DANCE TEAM that, one hopes, is just Selma Hayak and Lucy Liu in bikinis (see: yes, thanks).

Or, it's just boilerplate.
