Phase 1: Notre Dame
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: Profit!
Phase 1: Notre Dame
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: Profit!
Phase 2 may be "Go 3-9, Return To Glory (Next Year!)"
Every year, I imagine Notre Dame as Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget shaking his fist in the air and yelling, "I'll get you next time, Gadget -- NEXT TIME!"
Classic South Park reference. I use that one all the time. Brian Kelly reminds me of an underpants gnome for some reason.
Can someone please photoshop a gnome hat on BK?
ND is NBC, not ABC.
I can't tell if you're serious or just TIMMMAAY being TIMMMAAY, but it's @BC, so ABC fodder. Only ND home games are on NBC. Sleep well tonight, TIMMMAAY, sleep well...
But trying to explain what I meant would be difficult for me right now, so I'm just gonna leave it at that. And I know that it's only ND home games on NBC, to further confuse the matter.
I think the Stanford/Oregon game is gonna be on ESPN2 for us.
Yes, it is, but it is not going to be in HD. I hate watching TV in standard definition now that HD is so widespread.
Are you sure it won't be in HD? It's not like ESPN U where no one has the HD channel.
Time Warner in Columbus does too
As does Comcast in Atlanta.
When they do reverse mirrors for games on ABC/ESPN (or ESPN2), the ESPNx game is always only available in SD. The HD channel just shows ESPNnews.
no ESPN2 HD?
I think he's high. I've had ESPN2 HD in my standard cable package with Comcast for over 2 years now. It is also standard with Direct TV.
Its that that ESPN 2 doesn't broadcast in HD, its that this game will not be on ESPN2 HD wihtin the ND viewing area. ESPN claims it doesn't have enough bandwith or whatever to handle so many HD feeds.
If you tune to ESPN 2 HD Saturday Night, you will see ESPNNEWS.
On Comcast Ann Arbor, it just freezes up the channel.
Matt Millen is in charge of football scheduling? Ugh.
Now this week on ESPNU is going to suck
Typically, the games on ABC that are relegated to ESPN or ESPN2 have the HD broadcasts blacked out (for Comcast in Ann Arbor, anyways), presumably because the people who made the television contracts are mentally challenged.
EDIT: This is confirmed (see here for coverage maps). The Oregon-Stanford game will be in standard definition for anyone in the ND-BC viewing area. I would like to take a second to extend my middle finger at ABC, ESPN, Disney, Notre Dame, and anyone else who had a hand at making this deal. Also, I'll add the state of Ohio to that list, because this seems like something that Ohio would come up with.
The reverse mirror game didn't come up on ESPN2HD last week in AA on Comcast.
You should be grateful that you get to watch the game on a non-HD broadcast and listen to Pam Ward.
I can't get ESPNU on Comcast without spending more money with those assholes. Can't get ATT U-Verse, and the game is one of the few not on ESPN 360 this weekend. I hate Comcast with a passion.
Comcast will prorate your service, so if you order the sports tier for only one day, that is all the extra money you will have to give them. Kind of a hassle, but it's an option for you
In my apartment complex, I can't get U-verse, comcast, time warner, or anything. We can get the apartment complex's own cable package, but it doesn't include any sports channels (ESPN, BTN, etc). The dish would be an option, but you need a two year agreement, and I live on the wrong side of the building.
Can you please post a link of the coverage map (I'm assuming this is how you got this information?)
EDIT: I found one at ESPN
one less channel I have to worry about flipping to during Stanford/Oregon commercials.
Fuk ND and every channel they are on.
yes but can the monkeys drive trains?
Yet ABC still acts outraged and surprised when I pirate streams.
and count me among those who would gladly pay on a per game basis for an online stream. Money left on the table for them, I guess. Here's hoping there'll be streams aplenty on the usual sites since it's an actual Big Ten game.
It's on ESPN3 in areas where it's not on ABC. It's better than SD or a atdhe stream. Pirating streams in this case would be silly for those in the US (not on certain cable companies).
ESPN3 has been a huge step in the right direction and enough for me to forgive these types of things. I'd love to hear how you can get pirate streams that are anywhere near as good.
Did ND's contract with NBC end?
I believe NBC only has rights to ND home games. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
hey, be nice to that monkey. he tries his hardest
I think you mean "Train Monkey".
This is going to sound really lame, but I just watched "Earthlings" and that title is really sad.
this is an awesome schedule that shows when every broadcasted game is on and you can use the links at the bottom to find coverage maps
ESPN picked Northwestern vs. Minnesota over Michigan vs. Indiana sending M fans to Pam Ward country and you're upset about this???
I don't get ESPNU, so I can't watch the UM game this weekend anyway, but I WAS looking forward to watching Oregon Vs. Stanford in glorious HD...instead I get to watch the "Vatican Bowl" in HD or suffer through the crappy SD broadcast of the game I actually want to watch.
I couldn't get the game this weekend either. This was UNACCEPTABLE so I switched from Comcast to Dish Network. Install is scheduled for Saturday morning. Go Blue
Michigan football is the lipstick ESPN intends to slap on their pig, ESPN-U. When the biggest alumni group in the world finds out they don't have ESPN-U ten minutes before kickoff, cable providers will field dozens of angry demands for that channel. At least that's how I think they're thinking.
Can you blame them? The Minnesota/Northwestern game is the genesis of such memorable moments as this:
Really? ABC bet the house on Brian Kelly's instant success at Notre Dame? Two primetime games?
So I'm a Comcast guy too, and it looks like I'll be enjoying the game and Pam at the local Pub. Hopefully, by the 3Q Pam will look "hot" b/c I'll be drunk. Go Blue.
'Round these parts, it's up in the 700's. North of the Spanish soap operas and Al Jazeera.
Hopefully, by the 3Q Pam will look "hot" b/c I'll be drunk.
There's not enough beer in the world to make that possible.
If she looks hot at any point, you have more problems than the game being on ESPNU.
Sports package with Comcast and ESPNU is available for me on channel 735 in Rochester Hills!? Odd it varies from market to market it seems.
I think it was mentioned already but this is strange.
Here is what happens to me with DirectTV:
When a reverse mirror game (ESPN / ABC or ESPN 2 / ABC) happens, I get the ABC (local game) perfect in HD. Of course I have HD ESPN and ESPN2, however for some reason the mirrored game is blacked out on the HD channel. I can find the game on the "alternative ESPN" but as someone mentioned, it is in SD. I think this is ESPN's way of getting people to buy their College Football package.
Also, if anyone cares, and it seems they don't, Penn State vs. Iowa is also at the same time - 7 PM CST.
I think you just insulted mentally challenged monkeys.
