Just thought I would get this started for those who are watching the game. Michigan up 3-2 early.

argument that Novak will be a better shooter as his defensive responsibilities shift more in line with his size.  Less work guarding guys with 40 pounds on him has got to keep his legs fresher.

As for Stu.  Well.  I don't know about 3-pt shooting, but I've seen him make at least one two-point field goal this year so he's already doing better than last year.

First game I've actually seen this season.  First impressions...

- Morris looks much more complete than he was last year.

- Vogrich still looks outmanned.

- Morgan looks like he should be tough inside.

by what Jordan Morgan has brought so far.  Not saying he's a star by any means, or even above average, but for a (RS) freshman he looks like he'll at least be some kind of impediment for inside scorers.    He at least has some weight (Horford, I'm looking at you...)

....and as I write this he just shot one of the ugliest free throws I've seen in a while

Morgan would have been a big help for the team last year; would have let Sims play more at the 4.  Vogrich can clearly shoot, but he has to be stronger with the ball.  Hardaway Jr is going to be getting more of his PT unless he plays stronger.

Add to those thoughts that Metrics can hopefully keep up these 3 balls.

Horford looks incredibly small, but he definitely looks like he could grow into a very good B10 player.  Moves well, and add 20 lbs and he could be a force.

...to digest:

Michigan_mbball First half leaders for U-M: Smotrycz-12 points, Morris-7 assists (ties career high), Smotrycz, Morgan, and Novak-4 rebounds.

rodlbeard Michigan is shooting 15-of-27 from the field, and 6-of-11 from three. 11 assists on 15 field goals is pretty good, too.

I now Vogrich has struggled tonight, but my god that is one sweet stroke, he can help this team once he gets situated.

Darius is much improved and Stu has added a dimension to his game with the dribble drive, he just needs to stay with it.

Doesn't look like finding guys to score will be an issue this year, but rebounding could be a sore spot as well as keeping penetrators out of  the lane.
