Mens Basketball jersey help/info

Submitted by EZMIKEP on

I apologize if this has already been posted somewhere before or answered on another thread I cannot find, but I would like to know if anyone has info as to why they do not sell authentic basketball jerseys and only screen printed replicas are available.

I refuse to buy the cheaper stuff and don't really like the look. I don't want to buy used stuff off of ebay and I can not find out any answers as to why there are no stitched authentics available anymore.

Appreciate the help.

I would guess they are extremely expensive for the companies to make, and since there are not as many people buying replicas for basketball, it may be prohibitively so. Additionally since many of the best stars in men's basketball are one or two-and done, it may be hard to commit to producing a ton of (for instance) #3 Michigan jerseys as if Trey were not to return, they would have a hard time selling. I also prefer the stitched jerseys but it was a lot safer for Adidas to make a ton of #16 jerseys a couple of years ago, as they would likely sell for a long time

I bought my son the Trey Burke jersey and shorts sold at MDen and the like - $52 each I think.  The quality is really nice and is nothing like standard screen printed jerseys.
