Agreed. I'd say wear those things every game! Finally, Domino Dave and the athletic department get it right.
I Love it. Sneakers and socks look pretty fresh too.
Touchdown Michigan!
Like they said it would be. Shoes aren't the same. Dammit Brandon /shakes fist, ends rant
"This is an elite job, and will continue to be an elite job. This is Michigan ferodsakes!"
Classic, simple, and powerful. I like.
I hate ohio. Thats all you need to know.
Wow, those are like nice and classy and what not. I mean, if we wore for real maize unis (or late 90s hockey maize) that would be ideal, but these are fine to good.
They look really good, but if I hadn't been told they were "throwbacks" I'd have no idea.
I wouldn't mind if those were adopted as the regular design.

Best elements of the old design with the best elements of new fashion uniform stuff
I want it. I want it now.

It's perfect.

I agree with all who like these better than our current uniforms. Can we just keep these?
This, I will purchase. The first and only gimmick jersey Adidas has produced that has made me go "I want one of those."
Those short shorts just make me . . . uncomfortable. The change in basketball shorts for men is the single one most positive uniform change in any sport in the last 50 years. If you made current players wear 1968 era shorts, I think you'd kill recruiting. Or, conversely, being made of adidas material, the retro shorts would be too tight and rip. Also not a pretty sight.

Completely agree with you. How the old-school guys could play effectively while wearing those skimpy briefs is beyond me. They're just about as cringeworthy as those goddamn hospital gowns that don't come close to covering your backside.
Having worn both styles during the "transition years" as the shorts got progressively longer and baggier, I thought the older ones were much more comfortable and looked better (neater). Definately less suceptible to being held/grabbed/yanked, too. But I also realize that this is a minority opinion, as it was in the 80s as well.
I was at the end of the transition when the Fab 5 made it popular but it hadnt yet made it mainstream and I agree. Aside from that from an athletic point of view the short shorts are much more functional and user friendly....plus the ladies like it
are of the long style and not the whitey-tighties of old.
That's a perfect uniform. Keep it.

For those who say these are a lot better than our current uniforms- how did you connect your typewriter to the internet?
Have you seen this year's shorts? I think had shorts with that design in 1989. I think they may have said "Surf Dog" or some such thing on them.

Why aren't these our actual uniforms? Sometimes the past just had it right, and we weren't smart enough to just keep it that way.
These look great. I'd prefer the adidas trefoil (flower looking) logo. It would just give the uniforms a more classic look - kind of like the UTL jerseys. I hope these look alright with the arm/leg sleeves or maybe they aren't planning on wearing the extra protection because we are playing Penn State. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE MICHIGAN BASKETBALL - GOOD CALL!
Like.... very much. So crisp but with some of the modern style tweaks to make it wearable by 20 year olds.
I like them a lot. I wish we didn't have to put the Big Ten logo on there, though.
Also, shouldn't they use the old-school Adidas flower logo (like they did on the UTL jerseys) instead of the triangle one?
I'd like us to have uniform jerseys with the big block M a la the 1989 team's uniforms, but with shorts a la the Fab Five era that also have the big block M on the sides. It pays tribute to two different eras of the team's history and it doubly emphasizes the block M.

Unacceptable. They need the dark socks and the butt-hugging shorts.
For the throwback shorts.

Me too. The style toward knee-length "shorts"was changing (in many sports) while I was a college athlete, and I absolutely hated it. We'd never be able to go back to the shorts of the 70's and early 80's (e.g. see Mr. Kass above), but there has got to be something between the '68 version and a midi.
Those are sick. They should wear these a couple times a year.
THIS IS MICHIGAN
Why can we not just wear this...simple...elegant...and most importantly...UNIFORM
....on the uniform piping. Outstanding!! Not one bit of eye-blinding adidas Sun highlighter to be found. However, the Sun-like color striping on the socks doesn't seem to match the Maize-ish trim on the uniform.
No belt, longer shorts, and nice shoes. I really like them. The jersey and shorts are throwbacks, but still look up to date somehow. Really great.
Damn, those look great. Better than our current uniforms.
