Media Day

Submitted by PaulVB on
Before the team greets (hopefully) thousands of fans, they're made available to the media for questions and photographs. Tim and I will be attending and armed with a camera and voice recorder. So, any questions you'd really like hear us ask or groupings of players/poses you'd like to see us finagle, let us know.

Can you ask Tay Odoms how the Pahokee players and ask Donovan Warren how Teric Jones and JT Turner have looked so far in camp?

Can we get a pose of Barwis terrifying all the Freshman, preferably with his wolves eating the remains of a Boren jersey? More seriously, I'd be interested in hearing how they feel about GERG vs. Shafer. Obviously they're going to try and say good PR things but we might still be able to divine something interesting out of it. It might be hard to ask it correctly, but I'd be interested to know how they feel about Tate vs. Denard as leaders. Unfortunately, I can't think of a way to phrase that sort of question that isn't guaranteed to be offensive to someone or get an "good PR" answer so watered down as to be completely useless. Finally, Turner, how's he progressing compared to the other corners. Has he been playing a lot? Has he been with the first string? How are is fundamentals, can he tackle? I know I listed a lot but I'll be interested in whatever you can get. Thanks for asking us what we want.

Ask Denard if he forgot to pick up Witty on the way to school. I guess a more proper question is whether he has any info on Adrian's status. Even with Teric playing well, another CB would be nice.

Rich is asked about Witty at every press opportunity. He still doesn't know, which is obviously a bad sign for Adrian's eligibility, at least for 2009.

how "all in" I need to be in order to be "all in for Michigan." Seriously - could you please ask how much of the offense is being adequately executed right now in comparison to the end of the 2008 season, or even the end of 2008 camp? Thanks.

Ask if there is way they can make sure that we cover the spread in the first game. I've got $50 riding on it. Seriously - I wonder about the depth on the d-line and whether there is a 2 deep emerging for each position.

ask if Rhett Rodriguez is more likely to be a 3 star recruit at QB because that's what's necessary in the Big East, and if he doesn't committ to Michigan right away in high school is he grounded? What if he commits to ND and Weis calls their home every evening to reaffirm Rhett's commitment? What if Rich Rod picks up and yells at "that fatass" to stop calling, and prepare for an ass-whooping in early Septepmber?

For the returning guys, I'd like to know the difference a full year of Barwis makes: have them compare their conditioning and strength levels now to this point last year. Assuming its better (duh), what impact do they think it will have on the field this year? And for guys that were here under Carr was there a noticable strength/conditioning difference on the field last year? For Tate/Denard: what's the hardest part about the offense to execute? What's the transition to college football been like for you so far? What sort of impact do you think you can have on the field? What is your relationship like with the guy you're competing against? For the kick returners: are you trying to make me cry when you drop the ball?
