McGary to warm up with team, will NOT play

Submitted by bballislife22 on

Per @umichbball on Twitter, McGary will be participating in warm ups with the team tonight, but will not play.

I doubt he plays on Sunday either if we win, but wouldn't be surprised if we see him suit up in Dallas if we are fortunate enough to make it. Really would be something to potentially see the team come full circle. Go through the whole year successfully without him, and him coming back in the Final Four to give us just enough to put us over the top would be an unbelievable story. Need to focusing on winning at least one, probably two very tough games before this small chance even gets the opportunity to happen though. Go Blue!!!

I, for one, am getting sick of the bonerphobia around here.  It is not even closet discrete bonerphobia, it's egregious. Just stop!  We are ALL equal here - even those with boners.

Gosh, sometimes you think it's going to take someone to play professionally with a boner for the discrimination to stop.

Does not make any sense for him to dress if he has been ruled out completely. I get the sense that he has been cleared to go but our fearless leader is not sold it is in his best interest. And who said he definitively won't play? Hmmmm. I love Mitch but if he is not playing I don't want this to be a thing right now.

I somehow doubt that if he was actually playing that they could keep it quiet (then again the bball organization seems pretty tight knit) but it would certainly be the 'oh snap' moment of the tournament to see us roll out Mitch and JMo against Tennessee's two bigs

Don't get my hopes up @umichbball!

whose best friend has had back surgery (stenosis and herniated discs) and a wife who has had one (sciatica, degenrative disc disorder) surgery and is about to have to undergo another (they said its goting to be ever 10 yrs +/-) I second this notion. No sense causing problems for the rest of his life.  I don't even begin to imagine I know what they've gone through, but it's horrible to witness, let alone live through.

A la Willis Reed, Game 7, 1970 NBA Finals, joining the team for warm-ups, and the Garden goes nuts (OK maybe not as dramatic, it was Game 7 and Reed was still seriously hurt, but still):

Would be a nice bonus if we're fortunate enough to make it that far.  Would make my prediction of Mich-sparty final even better. Both teams fully healthy (to as much of an extent as currently possible), neutral court.  Winner take all.  I like it.

Mitch comes in for the last play, sinks a basket as time runs out, we win, the scoreboard explodes, some John Williams score plays, and Beilein is carried off the floor. Yes this so likely to happen!
