I love 2014!
Is not "news" so much.
Unless you're a big fan of fresh baked bread with pepper.
or donuts. mmm...donuts. Hold the pepper.
to grind my own coffee once in a while, too. That could be it.
and if you're not, well fuck you too.
I remember when Jesus tweeted the same thing...
But some people claim it was a fake account.
This made me laugh. Thank you.
But it was @TheRealJesus
It was @ItsJeeesus No fake blue check mark or anything
Jesus turned water into wine, and Mitch turned the Syracuse zone into swiss cheese. You're right, similarities abound!
But the hashtag thing ("#TheReturn") might have meaning - I guess it implies he's now beginning rehab?
These kids and their "Twitters" and such. What ever happened to a good ol' telegram?
I don't think there's much to take away from that other than things are seemingly going as well as expected. While that is good, it's maybe not exactly news. I could also say I'm up early on the grind.
How is your back doing?
not convinced that he is 100% not coming back this year. "Indefinitely" does mean something different in sports than "for the season," and the word that has been used exclusively to describe Mitch's status has been "indefinitely." He looks mobile and without any noticeable movement restrictions on the bench, and looks fully engaged with this team and what is happenning on the floor.
If he was conclusively out for the season I think those words would have been used already. I hope he's "up early on the grind" putting in work to see if he can make it back for the end of the season because from what I have heard(or not heard), though possibly unlikely, I don't think it is completely out of the equation.
not convinced that you didn't just use the old Dan Dierdorf double negative routine to make a speculative point.
him being out for the season is every bit as speculative.
that you didn't just miss the joke I was going for there.
I got it.
My side-splitting laughter is just wrapping up right now.
I'm not sure I don't understand what you're not saying about what Dan Dierdorf used to do or not do routinely. But I'm not sure I'm not wrong about that. I would not want to speculate any further.
Every day is a blessing. There's your good news. News'd
is better than not waking up...
You have no idea how good some sleep feels. I would so much rather be in bed right now, and you can interpret that however you like.
So if I'm reading the tea leaves here it appears that McGary got up this morning. And then after he was up he started doing things -what with him now being up and all.
That clearly IS good news.
...and tonite it will be #TheRepose
#TheReturn is trending right now.
#thereturn is a good thing!!!
I mean #TheRuturn doesn't lay out a time table for return to the court, but the fact that he's rising and grinding suggests progress on his condition. It's good news, at the least.
but sometimes it's only because I have to piss.
Ladies and gentlemen, your champion.
I woke up early and was on my grind this morning! Does that mean I'm going to be playing for Michigan basketball this year too?
I thought this was good news about Malik McDowell.
I don't see how this can be painted as good news. The title should be "McGary tweets something. No apparent change in return timeline"
It is good news. It was mentioned in a presser the other day that he hadn't even started rehabbing the back, but it looks like he's starting to now. Could be back in time for the tourney.
everywhere but on MGoBlog.
If you aren't familiar with The Kids these days, "the grind" is synonymous with "the things I have to do." It includes classwork, film study, yoga, grocery shopping, etc. So saying he's back on the grind doesn't mean he's lifting heavy objects or anything.
Not to mention that Kids These Days tend to tweet whatever the F pops into their heads. Adreian Payne tweeted that he would play against Michigan. Doesn't mean he did.
The use of #TheReturn suggests it might.
Yes, but I think "#TheReturn" at least mildly suggests that he's started rehabbing.
if all the grownups follow him hang on and analyze every word he tweets.
there was no timeline.
Just because he's rehabbing in no way infers he will return this season.
intensive purposes, I agree with that statement.
Grinding is Pooping.
Where does it say he could be back for the tourney?
I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that somewhere in the past they said it was an 8-week rehab, which seems very generous. And without a link, no one will buy it.
I've seen a 6-8 week estimated timetable in a few places. No idea how accurate that is.
Ace would appreciate this one:
College Basketball has such a short season though. I'd be amazed if he returned to full speed before the season ends, and if he can't get back to full speed it's probably not worth it to come back at all.
just cuz I don't like to see anyone go 0-8
It may have been a typo. I think that MM, like Beyonce, is "up early on the grand."
You mean to tell me Mitch has a part time job as a barista at the local Starbucks?
I don't think he would have added "#TheReturn" if he didn't mean that he was going to start rehab. Surely he's been going to class, etc. this whole time.
the sun will rise tomorrow.
This doesn't seem to mean anything specific, but with how well Morford has been playing is it possible we're better off without McGary for the rest of the season? Would his return screw up the positive chemistry this group has going?
I'd love it if my wife let me get on the grind early.
is the dumbest thread I've seen in quite some time.
Not to be all Debbie Downer, but I think there was a whole Adidas advertising campaign about this last year...
You mean to tell me that Adidas didn't run a massive marketing campaign for Mitch to return from ACL surgery last year?
I don't believe you.
More excellent news: his tweet just before that was "favorite commercial so far: #TimTebow". That's definitive proof that Mitch has functioning eyes and general cognitive ability, not to mention the motor skills to type that out.
I could make a new thread for this bombshell, or we could just try to contain the gospel of Mitch here.
But brethren, is it not difficult to rise and then grind with an ailing back? This shall be deemed good news! Rejoice and inform the Townsmen!
I'm surprised he could find a VHS player...
I just hope he doesn't rush himself by trying to come back before the end of the year. No sense in risking any further injury. And honestly, at this point, it might just make more sense for Beilein to tell him to wait until next season (assuming he doesn't declare for the NBA) before coming back. Horford and Morgan are both playing pretty well.
If he's 100% ready to go, and his coming back improves our chances of winning basketball games, then by all means let him suit up. Otherwise, I'd just tell him to wait until next year.
