MBB to Wear 1968 Throwback Jerseys vs Penn State
According to Rothstein:
Michigan basketball is going to wear 1968 throwback jerseys for its home game on Feb. 17 against Penn State. Part of the Crisler dedication.

Looks like you can buy Cazzie's at the MDen too: http://www.mden.com/shopping/product.cgi?TI1203+2030
Are these some jerseys people like for once? I for one approve, and wish they weren't so expensive to buy.
EDIT: pasadenablue made me realize I have no pic of them, he posted one a few posts down to compare to our home jerseys from a few years ago, here they are:

So, basically, they're wearing what our home uniforms should look like all the time?
Support.

Do the players like them?

February 7th, 2013 at 2:37 PM ^
And short-shorts?!
February 6th, 2013 at 9:04 PM ^
I can roll with these.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:05 PM ^
I like
February 6th, 2013 at 9:05 PM ^
They're not really that different than what the home ones used to look like a couple of seasons ago.
February 7th, 2013 at 12:19 AM ^
So these are actual, legit throwbacks, and not "throwbacks." I support.
February 6th, 2013 at 10:02 PM ^
The trim's the same, but the lettering is quite different.

Live long & prosper
February 7th, 2013 at 7:15 AM ^
That looks like MSG. Is that from the UCLA game a few years back?
Get your hair cut Stu.
February 7th, 2013 at 8:19 AM ^
Is it just me or is Stu looking like Lloyd Christmas here?
February 7th, 2013 at 9:00 AM ^
Is that Lloyd Christmas?
February 7th, 2013 at 10:55 AM ^
Love the throwbacks and the uni Stu is wearing here...which by the way are also by Adidas. Not sure why we ever deviated from this design. Indiana also wears Adidas and has a design just like this today, so I don't think they've scrapped the template. Someone in the AD actually thought our current unis look better than these classics and opted to make the change.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:09 PM ^
I like them a lot, actually. Classic.
People actually liking a special uniform? My head may explode.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:08 PM ^
I hope they don't wear throwback shorts, Might be a bit uncomfortable for the boys.
February 6th, 2013 at 10:05 PM ^
I would bet Stouskas' legs would be brighter than our jerseys last night
February 6th, 2013 at 9:08 PM ^
Look good. No names on back would be a nice touch.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:12 PM ^
We should wear them the rest of the season
February 6th, 2013 at 9:12 PM ^
I hate them, not bright enough. Damn you David Brandon!!! *shakes fist furiously*
February 6th, 2013 at 9:14 PM ^
Are they wearing the short shorts too?
February 6th, 2013 at 9:17 PM ^
Remember when the Lakers and Celtics wore the short shorts for a throwback night a few years ago? They changed out of them at halftime.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:24 PM ^
It looked terrible when they did that because of the modern baggey jerseys. The players who wore ankle socks looked especially bad.
February 6th, 2013 at 10:03 PM ^
The compression shorts longer than the actual shorts certainly don't help matters.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:25 PM ^
Also, I hope they include the belts.
February 6th, 2013 at 10:03 PM ^
#45 in the front row is sophomore Rudy Tomjanovich.
February 6th, 2013 at 10:21 PM ^
When his jersey was retired, I remembr one of the students in the maize rage held up a sign that said, "Our Rudy was good."
February 7th, 2013 at 10:02 AM ^
...Rudy came off the bench behind my dad.
/Cool Story Bro
February 7th, 2013 at 12:16 AM ^
... not wearing any shorts.
February 7th, 2013 at 1:35 AM ^
There's a very good reason they all have their hands in their laps with those shorts on.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:18 PM ^
Love the old school number font.
February 6th, 2013 at 11:16 PM ^
That font should be a Michigan standard. Basketball and football. It oughta be a law.
Note, 1968 football uniforms; same thing:
And most of all; note the circle-M socks. Both football and basketball. Some of these tribute themes are so obviously overlooked; I almost hate to suggest things for adidas, knowing how they will screw it up.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:22 PM ^
Now that's a nice jersey.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:22 PM ^
I can't wait until the maize uni's from last night are worn as throwbacks in 2038 for the 25 year anniversary of the rededication
February 6th, 2013 at 10:09 PM ^
I should be dead by then, so yeah, go for it. If still alive, there's a reasonable chance my eyes will have healed from the damage caused by last night's unis.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:32 PM ^
This is how "special" uniforms are done. Keepin it interesting by sticking to tradition. And we can see the numbers. And and...no headaches!
February 6th, 2013 at 9:32 PM ^
I'm actually excited about this. This is the way to do alternate jerseys, as was a few years ago when they wore the 1989 throwbacks. A good, clean, classic look that hearkens back to one of the golden ages of Michigan basketball (the 1968 uniforms appear to be the same as the Cazzie teams of 1964-66 wore).
Plus they won't sear my retinas.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:36 PM ^
Those will totally not burn my LCD when I pause the game for more than 3 minutes.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:43 PM ^
...the numbers and writing on the jerseys were white too.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:44 PM ^
Looks like all the bitching paid off, they're switching official providers from Adidas to Tiedman & Formby.
-The all maize/bleed out jerseys are "OK" now because...THEY WON. Just like UTL and The Sugar Bowl jerseys.
Adidas for the next 100 years.
February 6th, 2013 at 9:48 PM ^
Should wear these bad boys vs MSU at Crisler.
February 6th, 2013 at 10:02 PM ^
No....wear these for the MSU game
February 6th, 2013 at 11:00 PM ^
The fab five jerseys are absolutely perfect. The trim looks awesome, the color looks awesome, and the shorts have a block M and nothing else. Why can't we have nice things anymore?
February 6th, 2013 at 11:20 PM ^
It's probably just the picture, but am I the only one that thinks that Jimmy's block M on his shorts are higher than Chris and Jalen's. It just looks to me that it's in the middle while everybody else's is it closer to the bottom. I had a pair of those shorts when I was younger and I distinctly remember the M being closer to the bottom. Not really a big deal, just an observation.
February 7th, 2013 at 12:28 AM ^
I thought that same thing
