nice scoop and score
Horrible out of bounds call, fucking rediculous blocking call, and how was there no foul on that drive?
I'm fucking pissed this is fucking bullshit
let me be the thousandth to say, F the refs and Sullinger. Seems like he's only as good as he is cuz he knows how to get away with shit.
I thought the bad calls last time we played was just because we were at OSU. Nope.
That's just how bad Ed Hightower is.
"A little physicality" -- fuck you Clark Kellogg.
Who wait for it... went to OSU
but FUCK Sullinger's cheating ass and this fucking BULLSHIT officiating.
Thad Matta is one weird looking mofo
Well, this is going swimmingly.
Should've been Michigan's ball down 2. Instead it's OSU's ball up 7. Great job refs. Two straight terrible calls.
Why Ed Hightower is respected as a good ref is a beyond me.
And Nantz please stop. Sullinger fouls just as much as he gets fouled. Relax. You'll run out of air going down on him.
and fuck you steve kerr for bringing that up
Speak not ill of Steve Kerr.
Signed,
Young Chicagoian from the 1990s who even then could recognize his equally unathletic and white bretheren
fuck matta, fuck hightower, fuck valentine, fuck buford, fuck sullinger
Gee Kerr, you think we could have forgotten about Turner's shot? CBS has reminded us of it 50 times in two days.
Fuck Ohio, fuck Sullinger, and fuck these refs.
Playing 5 on 8, and still in it. HALOL, GO BLUE.
Are you sure that wasn't on us, ref?
but this is an absolute hose job
What a fucking joke. The refs changed the momentum of this god damn fucking game.
...at least we're in the NCAA torney!
I'm serious. We cannot inbound.
....on THJ, how is it a shooting foul?!?!?!? 5 straight point on terrible calls
Refs gave them a run. Going to take nothing short of a miraculous run to pull this out now.
Game gets down to two points and Hightower takes over. How many times over how many years do we have to watch it happen.
I suggest the entire fan base writes to the NCAA about this bullshit...its disgusting that they allow these select kids to be untouchable.
Buford is good.
I can't wait till the NCAA drops the A-bomb on OSU
Bahaha what a bullshit call.
Should expect it by now.
on our offensive end its wwe wrestling and on their end its a ballet
on O.
I hope their 16 seed goes all Kermit Washington on 'em.
That's game. Can't beat the refs. What a shame..
craft caught that ball without reestablishing as Valentine looked down.
Sit him and calm him down.
The box score on this one won't tell the story of the game at all. We had a shot at this before the refs gave OSU 5 and totally shifted the momentum. And that block on Morris was the same play that he got called a charge for but he didn't flop like bitch Sullinger. I'm going to stop now before this turns in to a novel.
Jim Nantz does not have a heart.
cbs needs to seriously upgrade their play by play guys... Gus Johnson should be calling the final four... absolute atrocity
All of this shit happened when he took Smot and Novak out... We just closed to gap to 2, why change it?
Yeah, I've had enough of these refs
TV crews should not have alumni of a school involved call the game. The alumnus's homerism always rubs off on the guys next to him.
We're getting sloppy and they just can't miss. Ugh.
Can we just fucking hit somebody?
This game was in our grasp and two terrible calls totally turned it.
I hope msu runs these fuckers
and by runs you mean "kicks them in the nuts and steps on their faces"?
The refs took over the game.
now we're just playing frustrated.
Rember when this was a close 2pt game and then the refs just threw it to OSU?
OSU is damn good. They don't need any friendly whistles. PSU or MSU has little shot against this team. Time to get ready for Thursday or Friday.
I'm going to smash everything in my house, This is getting hard to watch.
I definitely agree with the boards sentiment about these refs, but we did our job this tourney by beating Illinois. We're not experienced enough yet to knock off the #1 team in the country in the tournament.
disagree. we had every shot of taking this game.
then the zebra squad took over.
but if theyre just gonna call us for fouls any time we touch a buckeye, then just foul em. id smile if someone gave one of them an elbow to the noggin /notjoking
why don't we try LBJ's pattented "pass-off-face"?
Tough game. Yeah we aren't shooting that great and OSU's plaed better, especially in the second half.
But god I hate Big Ten reffing. I watch a lot of college basketball, especially in the past few weeks and no conference has worse officiating game in, game out then we do. Completely kills the game.
And no, I'm not trying to whine, we have fouled Sullinger a fair bit and got some calls our way in the 1st half. But a good official is like a good offensive lineman. If you never have to talk about them, they did their job. And almost every Big Ten game, the officiating is a discussion topic. Shame really, since the game is played by the players, not the refs.
Rutgers would disagree with you but yeah these guys are awful.
I used up all of my anger last tome we got hosed against Sullinger. I'm not even surprised.
talk about losing composure.....
It's not OUR fault
Give it a rest, there were a few bad calls in a row. It's going to happen in every game. The refs didn't make us stop playing defense on every possession since then. There's a reason OSU is easily the best team in the nation. Don't be whiny bitches.
Or miss 9 shots in a row. Every game has some bad calls on both sides, but that wasn't the difference in this game.
But it just so happens that these "few bad calls" only happen when Sullinger is involved and they happen in every game that OSU plays in.
I just don't understand how neither the Big 10 or the announcers notice this and everyone lets it happen and praises the shit out of Sullinger.
We were all over Sullinger in the first half, the commentators did point out that they were letting a lot go. The reffing absolutely wasn't perfect, but there's been far worse. If anyone truly thinks the refs are why we lost they need to take off the maize shades.
the bullshit officiating favoring Sullinger has been occuring all game. And let's not forgot the ridiculous free throw disparity in the first two meetings. Michigan hasn't played that great , but you would have to be blind to not see how that stretch changed the momentum of the game, as well as the preferential treatment for Sullinger has been getting all game.
We're a predominantly 3 point shooting team. They're a team that averages the most free throws in the conference because they play inside then kick out. The style of play is going to affect the amount of free throws taken, and they're always going to shoot more free throws than a team like ours.
2 point game. Should be our ball, but osu gets ball when Sullinger clearly hit it out of bounds. Now it's a 5 point game. Morris gets raped on offense, turns it over. Sullinger bulldozes into THjr, blocking foul w/2 free throws. Now it's a 7 point game.
So instead of having the ball down 2 with a chance to tie or take the lead, we have the ball down 7. Refs fucking blow
The out of bounds play was a close call, and could have gone either way. On the Morris TO, he dribbled into the lane, and into a double team, and whether a foul takes place or not that's usually not called. The blocking foul on THjr was bullshit. So I count 2 points. Ultimately, if the refs happen to change the momentum of a game, a team has to change it back with their play. M proceeded to miss their next 9 shots. Ballgame. Frankly, this board is the equivalent of the dude at the Y that calls foul any time he gets contact, instead of the dude who shakes it off and comes back harder next time.
GTFO.
You aren't a Michigan fan. Don't pretend otherwise. If you were, you'd have made an appearance yesterday when we clinched a tournament bid.
Can we get a banhammer for this clown yet?
Let me guess, this is the same kind of response you get when you occasionally run into another human being? You realize nobody here thinks there is any value in anything you say, right?
It's not about disagreeing with you, it's about you being a complete whiny asshole.
You should read some of the shit you post. If that doesn't embarass you nothing will.
Are you sure you're an M fan in Ohio and not an Ohio fan in M?
We get it, you're a troll. Hilarious.
Stay in ohio, don't come back.
Stone cold tournament lock for a team that no-one gave a chance of making the NIT. Stop complaining.
You must remember it particularly well, since your demeanor resembles that of a middle-schooler. Read your posts. YOU are the only internet tough guy here. No one enjoys reading what you have to say. Not because it's wrong, but because you are an asshole, and a troll.
HALOL
huh? go fuck yourself
How did I know you would show up in the end if we were losing. I'm looking forward to the day nobody here has to deal with your shit. Your two big meme's since you've signed up:
This team will NEVER make the NCAA tourney, and
NO WAY TRESSEL DID IT I MET HIM HE'S A NICE GUY.
Get the fuck out of here troll. I hope you get banned today.
Sound familiar? You're the one coming in here anonymously and talking shit about what is objectively a good team. You're the one with nothing valuable to add, who has been flat wrong on the two things you continually bitch about.
I am sure you are a beast in person. What I wouldn't give.
Are you still butthurt that your golden boy Jim Tressel ended up being dirty? You talked so much shit about how there was no way the rumors could possibly be true. Boom, they're true, you disappear for the week.
seen refs change the momentum of a game as quickly as this game. Doesn't help that we haven't really hit our shots either.
Oh well, still in the tourney(I assume) and extremely proud of this team for exceeding everybody's expectations this year.
Eat shit and die. OSU is a dirty program.
This is what I was talking about with negs. At some point, when he would have hit -250 or -500 (probably the MSU game) the mods would have had to cave this troll. Ugh this is frustrating.
Edit: Double post.
So I'll share the bit of wisdom that MfaninOH has exactly as many negs in this thread as he has points.
Complaining about having to fly across the country and watch basketball for a million dollars? I still hate you. All of you.
That Lauderdale dude looks like he's about 35
Prob. Greg Oden's kid.
he looks like Oden's son.
edit: damn. beaten to it.
I'm pretty sure that's Isaac Hayes.
Get the fuck off our board.
Go away.
I think the time has come...
get fuck out already. Seriously this team, has exceeded everybody expectations and you continue to rip them. Fuck you, jackass. Your either a troll or somebody who has no bussiness being an UM fan. Either way your an idiot.
There's no WE about you, your a fucking troll. Where were you yesterday when we came back from 12 down? Not a peep out of your bitch ass, I hope you get hit by a bus. Fucking queer.
uh you do know Braylon is from ohio right?
So is Jim Tressel and your entire football program....
I can see us next year giving osu the business just like we gave msu the business this year and telling buford to the GTFOMC
get the fuck off my board... and by my board I mean that for everyone
Looks like it will be Cheater U. vs. Convict U. in the champ game.
As long as the convicts bring the prision shanks it should be a good game...
At least the #1 priority on the Big Ten officiating crew is still the Kohl Center's magical home court advantage. OSU played there and lost. In all other cases OSU gets their calls and Wisconsin gets their home calls.
It really, really sucks that Northwestern couldn't seal the deal yesterday. Grrr.
IT HAPPENS
"bulls his way to the basket" is not a legal thing to do in basketball.
Couldn't be more proud of this team. Now lets make some noise in the tourney
God damn. Quit tapping Sullinger. Elbow the sonofabitch.
Elbow Hightower and Valentine instead.
That was a rough few minutes. Tough calls and an opponent good enough to take advantage.
Oh, and MfaninOH. You're a straight up douche bag. No qualifiers, nothing redeeming, just a douche. If you think you're clever, insightful, aware, anything, you aren't. You're just a douche.
+1
also, MfaninOH struck out on a date with his left hand last night.
How is it possible for Sullinger to play this whole game as physical as he is and only commit 1 foul? He's good but this is just complete bullshit.
They didn't give Hightower a hug?
Wow, really? What happened to "It aint over till its over?"
The difference between losing by 10 and losing by 20 might be the difference than a 10 seed and an 11 seed. So there is still something to play hard for even if the game is out of reach.
If that's the case, let's lose by 20. An 11 seed is a lot better way to get to the sweet 16 than a 10.
F these clowns. In place of a win, accept this picture of a sad, annoyed kitten.
Hey, a foul on OSU. :claps:
SULLINGER IS INVINCIBLE. INVINCIBLE, I TELLS YA!
Let's see him pull this no-call bullshit in the NBA.
Oh well, you're not going to win when you're laying bricks like it's going out of style, but it would have been nice to see what would have happened without those two bad calls halfway through the second.
Yeah, we needed to shoot better. Even really good teams are up against it when you shoot like this.
Ohio State has a very good and deep team . I hope they enjoy it while it lasts because they are basically starting over after this year.
A deep team? You do realize their rotation is 7 guys right. Congrats Nate, another stupid ass post by you.
This team is gonna be so fun to watch next season. And in the tournament. Well now I'm gonna be rooting for Osu to beat msu I really really cant hear all of the state fans in the office tell me how state is good and turn it on during march. I can't see them win
By a score of 7-5 or something.
I'm rooting for a 1-0 victory.
Here we go: a late, pointless spate of foul calls our way at the end of the game to make the final disparity look not so bad.
Might help us when it comes to seeding. I bet a lot of the committee can't actually watch all these games.
even if the buckeyes have to win, at least piss them off on the way out
The game is out of reach, and we're starting to get calls. so nice of the refs to even it out.
Wow. Kerr said it... Sullinger "bulls" his way to the basket. No shit.
They didn't list Hightower among the leading scorers for tOSU?
What FGHT!!!
Okay...what's the line on this game?
I belieieve its in the realm of 9.5-10.
Michigan covers and Buckeye bettors lose their money.
love the fight from these boys.
Love this fight at the end.
On the bright side Vogrich is showing some Novak grit going for loose balls.
Then the out of bounds call off OSU that went against us and then Sullinger's charge...er I mean Hardaway's blocking foul completly changed the game...I am not saying michigan was going to win, but the game would have been much closer and down to the wire since Michigan would have had the momentum.
I hate when referees change the damn game. Then again, these are referees from the Big Ten...so its not like it is surprising
er, lack thereof was gynormous; it ended up being a 3 pt. play and made a two point game back to five. Like you said, perhaps in the end OSU pulls it out, but then again the way this team fights, maybe we pull it out.
i just texted my buddy nearly the exact same thing. the two worst calls of the game came right in the midst of osu's big run. that no-call on the charge was plain awful.
Did you see the Northwestern OT. NW didn't even come close to fouling Sullinger in OT, yet Sullinger walked to FT the 3 times in OT.
I thought Kellogg was relatively ubiased, and Nantz is Nantz. At least Packer is gone. I mean we would all prefer Gus Johnson, but Nantz is servicable.
show up when were losing? Honest question. If you have any balls you will give an answer.
HOLY SHIT
UH OH
HOLY SHIT
triple post surprise!
WOW!
This team doesn't give up.
That was kinda exciting. At least we made it look respectable.
that was respectable. I know we got Craft's attention at the free throw line, he missed that first one BAAAAD, and then followed it up with another clunker. We get some calls at the other end and we might have the biggest surprise upset like in forever coming from that far back in like 40 seconds!
I was merely looking at it by the score. For someone who didn't watch the game the score as it ended looks a lot better than when we were down 15+.
I was annoyed, but the run we had in the last minute makes me extremely proud
If you give up on this team, I give up on you. Love them.
I love them too. I'm just completely frustrated by the INVINCIBILITY of Sullinger when charging defenders in the post. Complete horseshit served up hot n' fresh on hamburger buns with ketchup and pickles.
I don't think we've seen this kind of moxie since the Fab Five years. Gumption! Can you say 'Sweet Sixteen'? It's easy to be all sorts of positive in the days following tipoff of the FFT, but these guys truly have what it takes to win games: Moxie, good under pressure, resilient when behind, a flair for the dramatic, and players that can get it done in crunch time.
Go Blue!
That was an impressive finish. Good for these kids. Much bigger game next week.
damn... i wish we didnt have that cold stretch with fouls and what not
Gonna beat the spread with at least 20 points on the officials.
Man...oh well...Go Penn State
If there is a such thing as a good loss, that was it.
Steve Kerr, "Michigan fans applauding the effort of their young team". Amen, way to fight to the end boys!
Take away the BS calls, and this would have been our game.
Either way, WE DANCIN'!
of character. Love that they fought till the end. Same way they battled through after the 1-6 start in conference. Anybody who isn't proud of this team, really needs to get their head on straight.
Loved every minue of it - fighting all the way to the end, cannot wait to see what you do next
CONGRATULATIONS on making the Tourney!
Gonna beat the spread with at least 20 points on the officials.
I retract the kitten from earlier and replace it with this one.
Gateway error.
I like our chances to win 2 in the NCAA, we played the number one team in the country very well. The refs didn't help, but our guys never gave up.

Initial disappointment with the officiating has given away to a begrudging acceptance, helped by the fact that we are solidily in the dance.
i love whatever talking head that was that asked gene smith why he only suspended tressel for 2 non-conference games. he said something like "we're waiting for the ncaas investigation blah blah blah" which translates to "because we don't give a sh*t and we're going to see if the ncaa is actually going to do anything"
Love all the double posts. I ain't even mad!
Let's make some noise in the tourney.
I'm not one to blame refs, but we had no shot 8 on 5.
The officials directly gifted OSU at least seven points that I counted. We were in it, could have won it, but I still love this team. Go Blue.
Love this team for that run at the end. With a little more experience, I think we don't let Hightower/Valentine get to us and take this.
When will the NCAA fire those two hacks?
This game reminded me of our loss to Oklahoma a few years ago in the 2nd round. It's as if the refs think Sullinger is Michael Jordan or something. The announcers and refs were catering to him. Really pisses me off too when they talk about what a "stand-up yound man" he is. Watch his dimeanor on the court. He's a dog.
There's no excuse for us having a meltdown in the middle of the 2nd half like that, but it's ironic that 2 blown calls by the refs were the catalyst. The touch out of bounds off Sullinger's fingers that was given back to OSU and the supposed blocking foul on Hardaway against guess who, Sullinger. Why didn't that "stand-up young man" make it right by telling the refs it went off his fingers? What a loser.
Dude, you NEVER tell the ref that he made the wrong call when it's in your benefit. The officiating was horrible today - as it always is with Hightower - but calling into question a kid's character for not arguing on behalf of his opponent is absurd.
in soccer. I do it a lot.
I'm not saying that in general you should always correct the refs, but it's ironic that Sullinger is touted as being such a good kid.
I wish the NCAA would quarantine the refs like they do with jurors. It's obvious the refs know who the allstars are and give them preferential treatment. It's not just OSU.
UM was already considered in before this game. If this was a must win, I would be a little more upset.
Then again, I won't completely relax until I see UM's name in the bracket. I don't trust the Selection Committe at all.
If they're anything like the refs were for OSU today, maybe we're in trouble.
That is all.
Perspective.
If anyone would have told me we'd be 20-12 facing OSU in the semifinals of the B1G tournament as the No. 4 seed with an NCAA berth secured before the beginning of the year, I would've called you crazy as hell.
Angry? A bit, but we're moving the right way.
What gets you through bad calls is senior leadership. If you keep scoring, the bad calls don't seem to continue to kill you. When we couldn't score the bad calls magnified the problem. Anything this team does from this game forward is gravy. All they needed to do was make the tourney so the freshman could exprerience what it is all about.
With that being said, I think they are playing so well that we'll steal at least a game in the tourney, if not make it to the following weekend.
