Hopefully we can keep the momentum riding high from our big victory on Thursday night. It does not seem like a big game, but if Michigan wants a good chance at playing in the postseason (not the big dance), then this is a pretty important game.
MBB vs. Iowa Open Thread
First sunny day here in Ann Arbor in about a week. Hopefully, it will bring out a ton of UM faithful.
Anywhere I could watch this online? I'm abroad in Europe.
Just popped up here : http://www.watch-sports.com/pro/ncaa-hoops-streams/895-veemi
This stream is much better than the StreamTorrent one, nice find.
04:00 PM | Iowa at Michigan | 420TV2-ST 240k
Download StreamTorrent ...for st://..... links
Notes: from the link.
Before you open StreamTorrent you MUST do one of the following:
Option 1: Change your computer date back 1 year to 2010. Now manually open Stream Torrent or click on a ST link. Once ST has loaded, you may change your date back to the current date. You must do this every time you completely close ST in your tasktray.
UPDATE! : A few posters have had to leave their date set to 2010. Try this if you have issues setting your date back today's date.
Option 2: Go here: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/run_as_date.html Works instead of changing the date back and forth. You just have to untick the Move Time Forward option. Also the x64 version doesn't seem to work.
thanks for the info! how long does it take for the stream to start... it's said 'connecting' for a couple minutes now..?
Mine is running, but I have BTN so I really just fired it up to see if the stream worked. If it still isn't running, you might try restarting the program all over again.
I still think .500 in the Big Ten makes the tourney this year with our OOC resume (no bad losses and okay wins at Clemson and at home against Harvard and Oakland teams that are winning their respective leagues) and the strength of the conference. As such, these next five games are huge (and are whether or not we have a shot at the tourney). Other than at OSU, there are home games against Northwestern, Indiana, and Iowa along with a trip to Penn State. 4-1 seems doable (though perhaps not likely) and would put us back into the middle of the pack in the conference with a lot of momentum at 6-7 (basically one upset away from making the tourney). Lose a few of these games and we're looking down the barrel of no NIT bid.
Hopefully the fellas can start the ball rolling right now.
Looks like OSU women are going down again.
OSU women go down on everything...period lol
If Michigan plays like it can, I predict comfortable win by double digits. Iowa is terrible.
Looks like it's going to be another game where you wonder where the ball is if it's 2 inches outside the arc.
Good heavens. Can't they just zoom out a teensy bit?
This camera guy is horrible. How does he stil have a job?
Good so it's not just me screaming at the television. Come on camera man!
I can just imagine that story at the bar. "So I used to be a camera man for the big ten network but I got fired."
"what did you do?"
"zoomed in too close on basketball coverage so you couldn't see the damn ball."
For some reason i notice that camera being too close at Crisler a lot. Dont know how they dont notice it
I don't think I've heard analysis of why you don't want to have two fouls in the first half of a college basketball game in a while. Dear god.
I've never seen anybody throw the ball away more than Jordan Morgan. Happens, it seems, at least once a game.
I guess now that I think about it we really don't turn it over all that much.
That's pretty impressive for such a young team.
I want one of the polos the coaches are wearing. Looks like a new version. The sleeves make it look like the winged helmet.
Who is this Wasabi guy?
OMG DARIOUS MORRIS WHY ARE YEW DRIBBLOIING THE BAWL AND THEN PASSING TO AN OPIEN TEAMMATE FOR AN EASY TREE PIOUNTER YOUR SO SELFISH AND A BAWLHAWG!!
That last fan shot was one of those times where I wish I still had a standard def television.
I swear I just seen PAT in the crowd. I never knew that he/she/it was a fan.
Bank shot, SICK!
The lack of an athleticism difference of us vs. iowa (I mean that we are normally overmatched in that department) is really apparent here.
Michigan is playing well, but this damn wasabi guy is keeping Iowa in it. Gotta stop this guy
Wasabi will be shut down.
We really need to stop the ball better on defense. This is getting silly.
pretty pretty pretty passing
Silky smooth Timmy. I think that could stick.
I really, really think Tim is capable of making the leap in his sophomore year to be a great compelement to Morris.
Is he a really good defender?
I think our guys think they are better than they are, they have trouble with these bottom of the pile conference teams, but take osu and kansas down to the wire.
Are there any big guys were recruiting that have serious interest in Michigan? Evan is more of a outside big, and Blake is super raw.
Amir WIlliams (Detroit Country Day) was our best shot at a decent big in 2011. But he chose to go to the darkside(tOSU).
Can you believe Hardaway is only gonna get better?
Releasing that high with a soft touch and that spring/length is going to be deadly.
We need to get to the line, zero attempts so far
We're shooting out our minds and yet the game is even. Come on defense!
"I don't know if Darrius is as smart or he is...."
wtf does that mean Mr. Announcer?
I was thinking the exact same thing, then his voice became kind of awkward near the end of that statement
I was thinking the exact same thing, then his voice became kind of awkward near the end of that statement
Well played half, but we need to open up a lead early in the next half.
Its nice to see the team starting to hit the three ball at a high percentage. 7-17 at 41% is outstanding. Maybe because Novak isnt guarding the big man as much anymore he has more energy to hit the three ball. Its nice seeing him turn it around, especially in Big Ten play
We don't have the size down low to handle a skilled big man. We're getting ripped to shreds whenever there's a guy that can go down low and back someone down and make a bank shot.
BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE
Shoot More On The Run You Cocaine Zombie!
Damn he can shoot the rock.
Nice ally-nope by Iowa :)
Evan ballin he's got Trycz all day mofos!
I like this start to the second half
Silly Hawkeyes, Trycz are for kids!
Its official, I'm buying a Maize #10 next time I'm in Ann Arbor
How long til Tim Doyle gives Smotcryz a Baaahston-based nickname?
Tim Doyle is the reason our national unemployment rate shouldn't ever reach 0.0%
Jeeves, get me my brass knuckles! I must saunter to the arena to crush a man's windpipe! Cheerio!
Anyone else finding this announcer's use of "butterfly" and "lollipop" in reference to DMo a bit awkward?
Yeah Doyle is starting to sound like a creeper out there.
I hate this announcer. He is trying wayyyyyyyy too hard. Several times I've been tempted to mute the game.
Those polo shirts have got to go. Neon shoulders on a blue shirt just does not work. Bacari needs to take Coach B and the fellas to the Men's Wearhouse and get their style on.
No joke. All the Addias coaching polos are way too busy.
This guy is terrible.
Morgan is stepping his game up. Good to see.
Smotrycz does pick up the ticky tack fouls.
I bet he's a good dancer!!!!!!!!!
Doyle: "I bet Morgan is a really good dancer."
Doyle's conscience: "Hold me closer, Morgan dancer."
I think we found out the meaning of "your shoes sparkle in the moonlight, fancy dancer."
Well played, you almost made me ruin my laptop.
Morgan dancer is win.
That Butterfly stuff needs to go. Mothman would be alright though.
The butterfly takes flight.
The announcers really need to stop with the butterfly thing for Darius Morris. It won't catch on! Stop it BTN!
Its been a great week for the team. They have a nice stretch coming on up.. @OSU,@PSU, and home against NW and IU. If they can win three of the four i would say it would be a success.
I know Darius is obviously the man on this team, and is much much improved...but I just cant get over the play of Jordan Morgan. I really expected nothing from him at all this year, and he has been very solid. I am constantly shocked by the little things he does, just had a very slick reverse move under the basket.
totally designed ally-oop
HOLY SHIT LONGEST ASSIST EVER!
Darius getting some qb coaching I see
Darius Morris. wow
Wow, 3/4 court rocket dime that was amazing!
Wow what a pass. The angle on the replay showed how perfect that pass was
Every time I'm about to do my And 1 mixtape dance this butthole calls Morris the Butterfly and ruins everything. Please put a stop to this!
How about it?
I hope Boyz n da Pahokee will upload some of the bball games this season.
THat pass by Morris was insane!
This can't be right....I was under the impression that this style of basketball couldn't work in the B10
Playing devil's advocate here. Iowa is the worst team in the conference.
Michigan State isn't though. Neither is Penn State.
And neither is Michigan.
thats why Beilein is 23-39 in the Big Ten
Perhaps it's that Iowa's "style" of defense doesn't work anywhere
Bump Elliot is alive?
He sure is, at the strapping young age of 86!
Michigan needs to slow it down.
These are the situations where youth shows itself.
Why does nothing EVER come easy? Up 21 at home to the worst team in the Big 10 and we STILL have to sweat.
What a pass!
Alligator blood? Wow....
I feel like somebody put acid in my food and I just don't know about it whenever this guy talks.
No wonder nobody respects the B1G. I blame YOU, Doyle.
I don't think I'll ever be as happy as I am tonight to turn off the TV after a win so I can not listen to the announcers anymore.
Lack of free throws will kill us against better opponents
Ok....feeling better now.
Well that was a whole lot more stressful than it needed to be. Gotta love the production from 3 this game though. I know its Iowa, but making 3's is making 3's and hopefully it provides confidence for the future.
Looks like Hardaway finally found his stroke from beyond
I hope that continues throughout the rest of the season and beyond.
Oh god, the butterfly analogy.
But what a game
Oh no! The bee simile!
Big ups to Darius for the triple double.
Wow. Only two triple-doubles have been recorded in a Big Ten conference game since 2001 -- and they've both happened in the past week.
Well done DMo/Butterfly/Tim Doyle's Secret Crush xoxoxoxo
My god is Iowa bad at defense.
Still, good win in that we didn't lose in a very possible let down game. We shot the ball very, very well.
Wow. D-Morris is unbelievable. BTPOY 2012
Sunday messed around and got a triple double
The 2nd most impressive stat of the game...Colton Christian made club trillion.
I think Smot is the best 3 point shooter on the team. With a wideopen look, I have more confidence in Smot than anyone else on the team. Game on the line I'll take Stu.
When he smiles, Smot looks like he could be the little brother of that guy on The Office, no, I don't mean Darryl.
Michigan Basketball is fun to watch. Sucks that I have to keep the sound muted though.
There's always radio / MGoBlue.com audio, which I've used when I get sick of the TV morons.
great game. first time at Crisler and it didn't dissapoint
This is a really, really fun team to watch when they're playing a team that they're clearly better than. I hope they improve like I expect them to next year so that they're better than a lot more teams.
I think that's par for the course for such young teams, in any sport.
The last two wins have been great, but the wild swings in our shooting percentages means we're bound to take a southerly dip at some point again. Hopefully not during the conference tournament.
There's actually been a general upward trend in our three-point shooting as the season has gone on. It could be a function of the young guys getting more comfortable in the system and not taking as many rushed threes.
a very fun game to attend this afternoon. It was a shooting gallery for the Wolverines from the 3 point arc; and Darius Morris impresses me more and more each and every game the way he runs that offense. If this team can continue to shoot the ball well down the stretch they could make things interesting in the Big Ten race.
