MBB vs Charlotte Open Thread
Levert is terrible defensively. Just terrible. People drive past him all day.
For a supposedly athletic guy, he really is bad.
He is not terrible.
Where was the defense?
Nice defense. Levert gets broken down, McGary doesn't step up.
God dammit fuck this shit fucking sports suck dick.
Who lost their guy?
McGary had to step up because Henry got by Levert.
What a shit weekend
Fuck this weekend.
Damn LeVert got juked so easily right there what the hell.
He shot it, it hit nothing, and he was the first one to touch it again. That is illegal, no?
Well then DEATH TO BACKBOARDS.
Make a miracle.
stand around, let a guy shoot a layup, miss the layup, rebound his miss, then put it back uncontested. pathetic. of course, beilein never presses during the final 10 seconds and it's cost him on several last second shots.
McGary fouled the shit out of him and it still didn't matter.
Can anything go right for michigan right now lol?
The kid taunting fans deserved a technical. But either way we deserved to lose.
That was like watching a Michigan football game. Painful the whole way through, sometimes there are glimmers of hope, but in the end it just sucked
Can only dig ourselves in double digit holes so many times.... Not a good defensive game, dreadful shooting game, Robinson hurt, Stauskas' ankle, LeVert out for the first half... just too much to overcome.
This is a good team, a tournament team, but still some limitations that were exposed on this trip. A lot to improve on before even dreaming of a Big 10 title or another deep run in March.
A fitting end to this sporting weekend. I need a beer.
Charlotte's players seem like pricks.
F this weekend.
No de-committs please.
No de-committs please.
No de-committs please.
So hard to catch the ball. Better off letting Stauskas just catch and launch a halfcourt shot.
Next Saturday. Happy thanksgiving!
Our team needs to work on toughness. That and FT shooting
He will never recruit tough, punch- you-in-the- mouth guys. He gets a little softer kind of player he can mold into his system.
Sweet. It i always great when M football and bball lose on the same weekend to teams they should have defeated.
RCMB orgy commence.
Always seems to be the victim of last second game winners
weak ass team. Do we fucking know how to box out? Do we practice this?
Boy that was bad. Charlotte is not a good team. Bad loss in november
whuut just happened...
This is just one of those weekends.
Unfortunately, Michigan collectively seems to have a lot of "those" weekends.
We are young and didn't execute
How was the winning basket not a walk? Caught his own shot after not hitting rim?
It hit the backboard...
I couldn't tell if it did or not. I guess it must have.
It was almost louder than Crisler in there tonight too.
How good this season ends up lies in the hope that GR3 had actually improved immensely between his freshman and soph years. It is VERY early, but so far the answer to this prayer is a resounding no.
Edit: yes, I know he got banged up. But even up to that point, and throughout the early season, he has been absent.
to be fair, 3/5 of our starters are injured, but the defense was terrible.
What a crap sports weekend.
Sigh. Just a shitty bunch of shit. Can't fall behind like that.
Well, our players are young and didn't properly execute the gameplan.
Shooting bricks all night long. We had it coming
I really thought Beilein and his staff would have the team ready to play. What an epic fail.
How does Coach B prepare for abysmal shooting and an injured starter?
He puts them through shooting drills so they don't have terrible nights. If the shots aren't falling, you go inside for the higher percentage shots. I thought the player motivation was sorely lacking. They weren't ready to fight for the victory.
Should we be just like U of Chicago and give up sports? Seems like my life would be a lot less painful.
That would make many of the current administrators happy.
Sounds good to be.
He really needs to get in shape fast. No explosion, defense, boxing out. Lots of standing and watching.
Huh? Mitch is great. Better shape? What are you talking about?
Is everybody ready for a 30+ point beatdown at the hands of Dook?
Vermont would have destroyed Charlotte tonight. Did you watch any of that game? I did.
I can tell you first hand, as a Duke fan, that won't happen unless Duke improve IMMEASURABLY.
So you're a Manchester United fan, Duke basketball fan, and Michigan football fan? Seems legit.
I'm afraid I don't see your point. Oh, wait, you must discreetly be calling me a 'bandwagon' or 'fairweather' fan, aren't you? Good one. Like I haven't heard it before. Like I haven't witnessed shitty seasons by the teams I support but never waivered.
So tell me, how does one become a fan of two different colleges for two different sports at which those teams happen to be at the top of?
Just something that happens. Choices are made. Basketball has always been my favorites sport and Duke were always my family's #1, so I went with them. Michigan football is just something I adopted due the my family's distaste for Staee.
Duke and Michigan are hardly at the top of either sport, FWIW.
Nah, at the very worst it will be the same 10-point margin with which they bounced your Spartans from the tourney this year.
"Dook" should have lost to 1-4 Vermont at home today.
This was one of those games.
The team will be fine. They are ballers.
At least we have a top notch softball team..Hell yeah, let's rally around that!
and hockey is doing ok!
I am, in all seriousness, really, really looking forward to softball season. 6 straight Big Ten titles is my kinda Michigan team. We may not win it all, we may not even win the Big Ten, but we'll win a lot of games and have a talented, well-coached team that brings it at a high, high level, game in and game out. February can't get here soon enough. Everything else except for women's soccer has totally blown.
Indeed. Buying season tickets starting this year
Nice, that is a great call. Very affordable, a good number of games, and a quality team to watch. For the last few years I've been trying to make it back for a game or two, but living in DC I can't do more than that. I really hope we get to host a regional again this year, because I think I will probablybe home then. Alumni Field is just flat-out one of the greatest places to watch a game and enjoy an afternoon that I know of. Enjoy your season tix, wish I could do the same!
Jesus this week is going to suck so hard.
and the Governor is killing everybody.
