MBB v Illinois Open Thread

Have at it kids.  Going for the outright championship tonight versus an improving and defensive minded Illinois squad.   Hopefully our traditional -10 to -19 first half deficit issue is abolished.

immediately reminded me of the Bob Dylan song, "My Back Pages".

For I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now...

Enough reminiscing about music, though, as I know you're actually referring to an unshared Big Ten Basketball Championship.  You're probably too young to know that song anyway unless you're a Dylan fan.

Finish strong boys... March means that there's no room to take any game for granted. Must come out with a sense of urgency each and every game. Other than that, GO BLUE and WIN THE GAME

It's been a long time. Without revealing too much, my elder cousin was on he squad the last time we won an outright title. Let's get it done tonight! Go Blue!

First let’s win this game and get the Big Ten Title outright. After that though is it bad that I don’t really care about the Big Ten Tournament. Best case is we win the Tournament and get a two seed.  Worst case we lose early and get a three. I just don’t think there is a relevant difference between a 2 or a 3.  With that being the case the Big Ten Tournament really just comes down to not getting hurt.

The Tournament does matter for teams on the bubble.  For us however it really does not matter.

Checking in from Ulsan, South Korea at 9am Wed morning.  Dog on lap, coffee in hand, work email minimized on my home computer.

Let's do this.

Go Blue!

Playing good defenses doesn't scare me.  I learned that during the NCAA Tournament last year.  Sometimes a crazy good offense and out-offense us, but a good defense can't really stop us.

It looks like the Illinois blue-hairs also have trouble making it on time for a 7:00 tip off. At least they have a time zone excuse.
