MBB v Illinois BTT Open Thread

Submitted by alum96 on

I only started one other MBB game thread this year and it was for Illinois and that one turned out well.  Hopefully twice is still a charm.

3pt % coming back to earth from the last meeting, which is to be expected.  Gotta keep attacking the basket.  Stauskas is penetrating but everyone else a bit passive so far.

or think a vanquished opponent's gonna come back the same.

If they didn't strategize they wouldn't be in this conference.

If anything, we should treat 'em like they been vaccinated. Gonna come harder, change up their game.

I think we've been startled awake now -- damn was that alarm buzzer loud -- hopefully adrenaline keeps pumping. If so , shouldn't have any trouble winning.

we literally can not stop dribble penetration, giving easy points to bad offenses is how you lose games you shouldn't in the tourney.

Three of the team just standing around in the lane and no one stepped out to stop that lay up. I know it shouldn't surprise me anymore, but dang.

We're playing great. No one should be complaining.

Beilein is clearly going to get quirky tournament lineup to save legs. Stauskas and Morgan were out early with no foul. He's basically using Irvin to rest the legs of GRIII, LeVert AND Stauskas.

I'm not looking for a game anywhere close to the game a couple weeks ago. Basically I'm just looking for some execution and for us to make that 10-0 run when we can and hold it throughout the game.

I find it funny that Burke could get tackled on a drive to teh hoop and never get the call and Nik (almost) always gets the call.

too great.

Feel fairly confident about today's game, and while I agree that rest at this point would be ideal, late March holding more potential jewels, still...

I don't think we can afford to slack, take for granted, or give up this game. Would not look good.

They're gonna come out roaring, seeking revenge & a chance -- it's last gasp survival for them -- we have to be ready to fight.

It's also a good chance to firm up on D. before full-on Tournament Madness.
