MBB Tickets-Stubhub

Submitted by Ziff72 on

Just curious if any Stubhub veterans can give me info on how these things usually go.   I don't see any premium tickets even listed.   I see that any good to decent ticket for the OSU game is going from $300-$500.  Marginal ones are in the $150-$250 range and all the worst seats are going for $110.   I find these prices insane to attend a regular season basketball game.   I just wanted to know how real all this is.   I can't imagine more than a few people paying these prices.

1. 82 sets of tickets listed.   What % of these tickets will be sold at the listed price?

2. Do the prices drop wildly at a certain point before the game?

3.Are the people with the most outrageous prices listed prepared to go to the game so they set the price high and just go if they can't get the top dollar, because to eat that ticket is bad business.

Any other further insight would be appreciated.   Thanks.

i dont know about michigan basketball tickets, but i live in NYC and when I go to yankee games i usually buy my tickets 2-3 hours before game time on stubhub and print them out at home as the prices will drop dramatically.  you can end up saving a bunch of money this way.

even at the superbowl this year in indy, tickets on stubhub were going for about 2400 during the week of the superbowl but then crashed to face value (900) about an hour before kickoff.

If you are looking to find cheap tickets, its best to wait until this firesale period.  Stubhub usually cuts off their ticket sales about 2 hours before game time in NY.  I am not sure what sort of policy they may have in ann arbor, so it might be worth calling their offices to find out.  good luck.

those prices seem outrageous for a MBB game, if it was a battle of two top 10 teams or top 5 then maybe..

So I will say this for big games- you will almost always pay what seems to be an obscene amount the week or so ahead of time. If you want to wait it out until a few hours before tip, you can, but really pay attention as other people are doing the same thing and better deals can be had, but the tickets also go quick. So know what you are comfortable paying and where you want to sit when the supply drops. Btw, there are only 77 tickets now.

I use StubHub and Craiglist quite frequently. But i prefer Craigslist for Michigan sporting events, as you can usually get much better price. For instance, I got 2 upper level tix for the game tomorrow for $50/ea. But of course, prices will drop considerably once its close to game time. I remember for the Neb game, I had an extra ticket, and ended up selling it for $20.
