Great F****** EFFORT guys.

Walton you are a warrior - looks like he is 60% out there.

We don't do moral victories but damn we are playing backcourts at times with Spike + Dakich.  Play like this the rest of the way and we can do some damage.

Very proud.

First off, it was a bad foul because he was badly beaten.  Second, to answer your question, hHe was dramatically out of position on a corner three later in the second half by Wisconsin.   I don't know why you think you have to physically in attendance to see that.  I also don't know what meme I'm beating to death.  The one that claims Chatman is not very good?   I hope he ends up great, but he looks completely lost.

You are consistently and unnecessarily negative and personal towards 18-20 year old student-athletes recruited by John Beilein to play basketball at Michigan.  And contrary to your recent assessment "this fucking team (doesn't) suck".

If anyone ever doubted JB as a coach, well think again.  He had an under-manned team take Wiscy to the mat, that is real coaching.  It is easy to take a team of all 5 stars (re:Kentucky) and have them go undefeated than it is the coach this team given all the adversity they have faced and play as well as they did tonight.

Glad he is our coach!  JB & JH - Who has it better than us, NOBODY!

The payoff is down the road, but this group of freshmen and sophmores is going to kick so much ass in the next few years.  And either way they are fun to watch. Go Blue!

I wonder what would happen with this team if Chatman actually lived up to his recruiting hype. MAAR and Dawkins seem like diamonds in the rough making.

Also, my goodness has Irvin been disappointing this year. He's barely made a jump with his game, and any leadership isn't anywhere to be seen by my eyes. Very disappointed in him. He could be a difference maker, but just doesn't seem to have the poise that great players have.

I get what you mean, but not every player is destined to be a guy who can get his own shot, lock guys down, etc. Irvin is a shooter primarily and and is a fine complimentary player when he isn't a focus of the defense. Now that Nik is gone, he's probably the most dangerous catch-and-shoot guy on the team, so he has been a focus for defenses all year. And for some guys there is only so much tweaking of their offensive game to add more driving and variety.

I agree with this on the defensive end though.

the post game press conference. He said that his game is evolving and basically there is good and bad he's going through as he expands his game. He seems pretty optimistic about where he's going to end up. He even talked about him getting to the rim (which wasn't part of his game previously) off balance because of his long stride. He's struggling but if it begins to click for him he will be a much more dynamic player. His defense has been a plus.

This team should've been blown out tonight by a Wisconsin team that is much bigger, more physical, and on paper, a better overall team. But Beilein's guys hung tough. They took the #6 team in America to the wire, and this was without their best player, and with a few guys that weren't 100% anyway.

I think this year will prove to be the exception more than the norm. Michigan will get back to being Michigan sooner rather than later.

Despite the loss, my perspective on the team/season changed a lot tonight.  This team is growing up.  There's a very tough road ahead but I feel like we're going to put up a fight every night and be one of those teams everyone hates to play.

Now, I'm back to sayin' "A Big Dance At-large bid ain't over until it's over." Can we finish 7-3 to get to 12-6 B1G / 18-11 overall to at least be in consideration for an at-large going into the BTT?

Before this game, I thought, no way we go 7-4 and pick up a marquee win somewhere to give ourselves a chance. Now? 7-3 is not likely, but it's in the realm of possibility.

GO BLUE!

If you look at that schedule and are objective, there are only three games You feel good about winning. There are 3 with little to no chance of winning and 4 don't feel that great about. 7-3 would be a miracle. 5-5 is more realistic. Having said that, we still haven't shot the ball worth a shot and when JB teams have limited or no expectation they are at their best. Fun to watch tonight, keep up effort and good things could happen.

This team showed they can play with anyone tonight. They really don't finish the first half well, unfortunately. Overall, so proud of the team (the team, the team).

Agreed MAAR, Dawkins, Donnal, and also Chatman made some nice plays - especially on the boards and on D.

I just wish they didn't switch back to man to man towards the end of regulation. Wiscy got a few easy baskets with Hayes and Kaminsky which hurt us. I saw them play against Cal in person and these two are very, very solid.

Also would like to have seen Doyle get more time in the first half. He really held up well on the glass in the 2nd half.

Great effort, and this will be a confidence boost for the rest of the season. Go Blue!!

Congrats to the team on a solid effort, and it would have been great to steal the win.  It remains an NIT team to me right now, but I now have a bit of optimism that the team could maybe get to a play-in game for the NCAA tourney with a strong run to end the year.  And looking at the schedule, it definitely looks easier than it did even a month ago.

They are starting to play like they know what they have to do in order to win,

Would like to see MARR start along side of Walton and bring Spike off the bench.  We would always have either Walton or Spike on the floor to run things, but not have them out there together anymore than necessary.

You can see the freshmen starting to grow, but they aren't to the point where they can do it consistantly.  Hopefully, they will get there by the end of the year.

Next year is looking better all the time.

Points were nice, but there were many subtle plays he made on defense to help the team win. I thought he was better than the other guards in the 2-3 zone.   Another piece is falling in place.

Wisconsin is just flat out good.   Several times, I was complimenting their play.  Not much you can do with Kaminsky on many of those plays.

While I'm at peace tonight, next year I hope we beat the fucking shit out of this team, running it up, hanging on the rim up 35 ...

said this team lacked talent. I disagreed then and I double disagree tonight. For one thing Beilein relies on basketball IQ as much as talent. Secondly this team is just young. Imagine Doyle, MAAR and Dawkins as juniors with Walton. I like the potential of this team a lot with Beilein in charge. This is a season that will forge their identity and hunger.

Best part of the night was Donnal. There were a ton of flashier players who performed far, far better than him. But he gave a glimpse of a previously unknown level of ability. Awesome to see the whole corps of big guys stepping up.

I love this team... I don't care about those six ugly previous losses (barring Nova). This team has heart. The team is coming around, but A LOT of this rest of the season will depend on how much intensity we put into every game now until Selection Sunday.  We can't afford have a repeat of the OSU game earlier this season.

Now about this game... Walton hero-ball scares me.  I love him, but he just isn't Trey and doesn't have is dribble penetration.  I really would have liked to see some more ball movement in OT to find a quality shot.  We still aren't shooting the ball particularily well, but the offense is finding a groove.  Love that the freshman are stepping up, and Chatman played some quality minutes as well.  Now I'm starting to see why Donnal was a Top 100 recruit.  The kid has some strong range and grabbed some quality boards tonight.  He still isn't where he needs to be, but he is really coming around.

This team has the capability to be very pesky come March, and like I said before, a lot of it will depend on how much fortitude we show day in and day out.  We have a lot of work to do, but if tonight was any indicator, we most definitely can do it...

PS, I LOVE THIS TEAM AND JB

Yeah, man. You can't rag on Walton right now. Dude can barely walk without limping and yet he's leading the team in minutes and put the team on his back for much of that second half.

Walton's lack of burst is not intrinsic to him as a player. He had that burst just last year as a freshman.

Dude's a warrior.

A rather damaged one. But a warrior, just the same.

The boys busted their ass tonight! Driving the ball? Yes they did, heart and grit, MAAR Impressed me, Walton played great,Doyle is a beast in the making, with this coaching staff and young team we're going to be a force to be reckoned with in the near future. Go Blue

We will keep basically everybody next year and the other top big ten teams lose a lot. Wisconsin will lose Kaminsky, Gosser. OSU will most likely lose Russel to the draft and they also lose Thompson and Scott. MSU loses Dawson, Trice and Valentine and Indiana loses Ferrel and most likely Blackmon to the draft so next year is going to be a good year for Michigan

With or without LeVert this team is going to get really good over the next two years.  They all looked better in this one, against the best team they've faced in a while.

Great effort. A healthy Caris and/or Walton and maybe we win. Meanwhile It was way too many minutes for Chatman who can't produce anything positive offensively.

As much as I love Spike I think it's becoming more and more clear that he is not a guy who we should expect to play a starters role. He's a fantastic spark off the bench and a smart player, but to be completely honest I think MAAR already brings more to the table at the guard postion than Spike does.

I remember a lot of us were skeptical when we signed MAAR and Dawkins so late, but they are going to be tremendous program players. Add to that how solid Doyle has been as a true freshman, Chatman seeming to get a bit more acclimated, Wilson still with a high-ceiling for a big man, and Duncan Robinson coming in next season. We will be an extremely deep and talented team next year especially if Levert comes back.
