MBB Snowflake thread
it's time to go more all out in football and basketball. Go to Columbus. See what they do to get 5 star after 5 star to go there for basketball and football. I don't even care if it's illegal. The NCAA doesn't care if you cheat anyways. Who cares about admissions? Ohio State lets anyone in who can breath and have been the best football/basketball tandem in the country since 2000 while we pludge along doing things the right way and getting our asses handed to us by them but hey we do things the right way. Why can't Beilein get a Jared Sullinger, Mullins, or Oden while Thad Matta can? Beilein is a better player developer than Matta even as this year has been shitty. I believe he's a better developer of talent than Izzo too but they get the talented 5 stars that keep their programs from having down years like this year for Michigan. If we recruited as well as the Buckeyes do for both football and basketball, we'd never go through these hardships. Top 5 classes every year in both sports and Harbaugh and Beilein would have us rolling as the best college sports program in America. Your snowflakes below.

that's my fucking snow flake.
Fuck this universe.
What the fuck is wrong with him?

My point was that maybe Beilein is a better judge of talent than the scouting bureaus. That's all you need to know.

It isn't like Kentucky just missed the NCAA tourney even with their 5 star recruits...
they've also made the Elite 8, four of the last 5 years and been in the FF three of the last four years.
It's the truth though. When's the last time we had a class better than them in basketball/football. Izzo, Meyer, and Matta aren't better at developing talent? They just bring in the best guys.
who cares. We were just in the National Championship game. That is what matters. For Christ's sake. We lost McGary to a BS rule, LeVert is out for the year, and Walton is out. What do you think will happen when 3 of your top players are removed from the team.
Idiots

Who said I wasn't cheering for them? I'm just explaining what we need to do to be elite. I love this team and think Beilein is a great coach who needs to recruit better.
let's fucking see. JB's 2012 class is all in the nba. matta is still struggling with a bunch of seniors.

I don't know who's worse: people who can't deal with some mild frustration or people who leap to call Beilein garbage.

Moderate your shit, people.

Getting really sick of this Michigan holier than thou attitude when we have no winning to fall back on.
Just stop.
Higher standard?
Csonte York, Frank Clark (2x), Brendan GIbbons
Covering up/botching (whatever it was) Gibbons' rape situation for 2 years.
Ed Martin scandal.
DB trying to hide Morris' concussion for 2 days until a random midnight.
Michigan is not THAT much more different than any other place. Sure we're probably more clean than the Kentuckys of the world, but we're right there along with everybody else maybe a little bit better. Nothing to boast about constantly when Michigan loses.

Do you ever get tired of your endless caping tonight?
Sorry I don't think my alma mater is some pristine athletics paradise like some of you delusional fans.
So you excuse those away as mistakes by the best of people? You're joking.
Michigan fans love to feel pride about doing things the right way, yet can't take the heat when people point out Michigan fuck ups, which I would bet are on par with or slightly better than many other schools in the country.
Agreed. You can't bitch about Michigan losing to Kentucky last March, Ohio State, and Alabama in Dallas and then say that Michigan shouldn't engage in anything they do. The same people want us to be Alabama and be completely clean.

I'm not hating my school. I'm just saying my school when it comes to athletics isn't as pristine as people make it out to be. I'm not saying UM is the 80s/00s Miami Hurricanes, just that athletes get leniency and perks here just like other places. Maybe not to the same extent. To believe otherwise is kidding yourself. Michigan also has its legal issues when it comes to athletes like other places. I don't think it's anything worthy of commendation considering the entire landscape of college athletics is dirty as hell. It's like saying one politician takes less corporation "gifts" from another one. At the end of the day, they're both still being bought.
Yes. I agree that we shouldn't cut corners but it's not that simple. As somebody who went to Michigan, I know that we won't beat the Buckeyes consistently without doing the exact same things that they do. We're 2-11 against them since 2001. What happens if they keep getting the better players that we can't get because we "don't do those things at Michigan" and they go 11-2 against us in the next 13 years. Are we just going to give up and let them take the all time series because we refuse to engage in the same things?
to equate osu and um on the ethics scale is laughable. tressle knowingly cheated. i think fisher was a patsy at worst.

You can't win anymore without cheating. In 1975 maybe but now you either do it or become irrelevant. Look at the past 10 football national champions and basketball national champions.

we were one bad call on a blocked shot from winning a natl title in 2013. and we were one injured back away from winning again in 2014.
This bball year has had a ridiculous amount of bad luck right? I mean, injuries to 2 of our top 3 players. Basically everyone we need going to the draft last year. Losses in like... what, 5 overtime games? All this has to even out somehow. Obviously this means next year will be amazing. Right? Right?

Kentucky is 30-0 and is the dirtiest team in America. Nobody cares though. The NCAA doesn't. The fans don't. The fact that we suck so much is tied to the fact that we are unwilling to do the same things as the Buckeyes, Kentucky, Alabama etc. We are a glorified Northwestern who will never beat the big boys consistently until we play by their rules. How much different do you think the past 10 years would have been if we had top 5 classes every year like those places?
championship and would have been in the NCAA championship game at least once in the last two years. Wouldn't that be great?
