True but we are also now more of a proven commodity. If you are a top kid the coaches have proven they can make it to the title game.

Obviously Duke has also done this and it will be a challenge but in this case we are much closer location wise and the Big Ten is arguably better than the ACC at least for the moment.

Regardless, nice to be in contention for top talent.

McGary said before the Florida game that it actually came down to Michigan and Florida for him (with Duke third).  We still beat out Duke, so it doesn't make much difference for this conversation, but I found that interesting.

This kid has seemed like a Duke leader ever since he has been on Michigan's radar.  the staff really seems to have made up a ton of ground with him.  They have a great chance to impress him on a visit and take the lead.

If things go according to plan, Michigan will very likely have 4 first round draftl picks in 2 years.  That is a big deal  and kids have already started to take notice.  Getting kids like Booker, Looney and Zimmerman are going to keep Michigan at an elite level for a while if we can close on a few of them.  I mean, who wouldn't want to play for Beilein?  His style of offense seems like every players dream.

Let's not forget our team was the #2 team in the nation last year and lost a close game in the NCAA championship game. What you have just done recently is really influential to these young guys who haven't been around for decades of reputation that many of us have.

I was initially down on the 2014 class.  I didn't think we'd land any of the top targets (Booker, Looney, Bluiett, or Chatman) to complement Doyle and Hatch.  However, at this point I have a hard time seeing Michigan not land a consensus top 50 recruit (which all four of those players project to be).  The main factor in this is that Bluiett's chances of going Blue have raised in my eyes thanks to Stevens.  Absolute best case, we would land Booker, Bluiett and any of the combo forward prospects.  That would be a killer class.
