MBB - Morris Not Starting

Submitted by MillerTime on
Darius Morris is not in today's starting line-up against Purdue because he "ignored some of the program's core values" - our offense looks terrible without him and I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened...

And Beilein gets a "vote of confidence" from Brandon. Do they do anything other than shoot 3s? Oh, and that windshield wiper offense at 30 feet from the basket?

This seems like a comment from someone who is only watching the Gametracker, not the actual game. Early on, we were getting no penetration, and correspondingly few points. Since then, though, we've been making dribble-drives & opening up both some nice shots down low & easier 3s. Even though we've missed some 3s in the later part of the half, they have been higher quality shots.

Michigan, because they run NO offense (other than hoisting 3s), they set no screens - other than the occasional ball screen 35 feet from the basket, they do little, if any penetration, they allow Ryne Smith who has done nothing but shoot 3s since he was a freshman at Toledo Whitmer SHOOT WIDE OPEN 3s, and Beilein uses a timeout with 8:05 left (his 2nd to last) when a TV timeout was coming on the next dead ball.

Oh, and Zack Novak and Stu Douglass are NAIA players, at best.

There's some information.

Getting penetration is easier said than done when you're playing a team full of quick guys and future NBAers, fucktard.

Stu Douglass carried the team today and any team in the B10 would love to have Zack Novak.

Name-calling, especially in an argument, is stupid. Relieving the angst of watching the Texans takes more than just dropping a string of expletives. I tend to neg myself for those anyway.

I sincerely meant the Texans have completely made it justified this year. I've watch a lot of NFL football, and the way they've done things is unprecedented. And I live in a Lions town.

And I think I've made it clear elsewhere I'm all for cleaning up the nasty discourse to make it more safe for W, H, or W, vs. just other stuff. So if my tease came off as a complaint in "Internet type", it was an endorsement that various Texan-affiliated people could indeed hit "fucktard" status.

Interesting side note- auto correct thinks the closest thing to "fucktard" is "duchess".

A 10-2 start?

One (not even full) half does not a season make. If you real, you know, perspective, or a real critique, feel free to share your opinion...but at least make sure it has some basis.

Completely unfounded, man.

Spare me with the 10-2 start. They played no one. This team does not run an offense and that has been the case since Beilein got there. They stand, all spotting up for 3s.

Anyone who says that Michigan "does not run an offense" or that it does nothing but "spot up for 3s" either has not watched a game or does not understand basketball. Or both.

Your resume? Probably like George O'Leary's.

using the 'intellect of NBA players' in the context of the knowledge of the game of basketball is a stronger argument than internet dude who claims to know a lot about the game.

but I will always back the coach in these situations. I have no respect for coaches who give the star special treatment or look the other way. If you aren't prepared to enforce the rules, then don't have any rules.

The defense tightened up well. Ryne Smith does NOTHING but shoot 3s. Can't leave him open. Force them to put it on the floor.

Per the laws of evolution, given enough chance, probability, and time, we are bound to EVENTUALLY make a 3-pointer.

Edit: It has now become evident that I am, in fact, NOT in the Open Thread for this game. Pardon me.
