Man, if Texas only had a 200+ lb bruiser inside, they would have des... wait a minute...

Thank god Ridley was severely underutilized this game or else it would've gotten ugly.

Caris is a monster like usual. Irvin getting back in the flow of things and Wagner's coming out party were the nicest parts of the past 2 days.

Hopefully M can keep this going and the shitty shooting days are somewhat behind us.

Eh... he was blatantly open at points in the 2nd half in which he could have easily scored. The Texas guards just didn't get him the ball... Now that could be good D by Michigan or just bad offense by Texas.

I'll go with mostly bad offense given what we have seen so far this season.

Is that a joke/sarcasm? (if so I'm not really seing the point of your post) ... but anyway Seth Davis did mention how Ridley was open at least once and said they should have been feeding him the ball multiple times.

Where did I say to shut the program down? The closest I came to claiming the sky was falling was debating a few folks in a snowflake thread a few days ago about whether Beilein is an elite coach.

Did you go to college in the past decade because if not, you would certainly fit in with your emotions clouding your judgment and reading comprehension.

I remain concerned about the quality of this team - but also recognize, as I said as the UConn game ended, that many of these guys are adjusting to the speed of the D1 game for the first time or readjusting to it.

I just think it's amazingly shitty to look for the most negative possible interpretation on a night when the guys actually got it together and played passably well.

The constant search for negatives, the pessimism, the always ready to turn on a dime on the program element of the fanbase - yeah, that's a total fucking drag ALL THE TIME

Tell that to San Diego State. 6th in adj. defensive efficiency on Kenpom yet 4-3 overall. Same with Rhode Island: 10th in defense and they are 3-2. The goal of the game is to put the ball in the basket, and if you can't do that well, you won't win many games.

Important win.

Wagner = 5 of the future.  Near future.  By start of B10 season.

Still gettign healthy - no Spike.  We're going to be a much better team in 4 weeks.

Lots a things to be happy about.  All in all, we're 4-2 with no bad losses on the resume.  Many "power conference" teams cannot say the same.

i would say all of the 5's are not good defensively and likely to give up points or a foul anytime they have to defend one on one. the difference with wagner is he stays active and can at times be more of a positive force on the court--with his offense and active feet drawing charges--than a liability.

for me, his best attribute is his mentality. he's probably the most tenacious player on the team.

I don't really know if he looks like a "Euro true frosh." He just looks like a true freshman period. He definitely doesn't have the body yet, but he's still a very physical player. He also looks way more athletic than Donnal or Doyle. I bet his vertical is, no joke, roughly a foot better than Doyle or Donnal. Doyle and Donnal just do not get off the ground at all. Both near 7 footers and they consistently attempt to lay in what should be easy dunks.

Wagner has also shown an ability to drive to the hoop. He has shown nice touch and finishing ability. No one has done that since McGary.

Wagner has also already made a habit of sacrificing his body in attempts to take charges. He reminds me a lot of Novak in that respect.

It's just clear that the ceiling is so much higher with Wagner than it is for the other bigs. It almost seems certain he will be starting by the end of the year. What he lacks in size/strength he definitely makes up for with his motor.

6'9" may be a lot nearer 7' than I am, but for basketball players I wouldn't call them "near 7 footers." Especially when they seem to have whitemencan'tjumpitis. Though IIRC Doyle did have a dunk the other day, he's not really explosive. Just because other teams have bigs that can make "easy dunks" doesn't mean Doyle & Donnal can. Their games just aren't above the rim.

Duncan Robinson and Wagner are real deal. I am glad Irvin is finding his rythm. They definitely went after rebounds today with that big dude Texas had.

This team still have time to improve and could look really good by the meat of the B1G schedule.

I watched the ESPN Gamecast, so my only observation is that the graph thing made it look like we had the lead for nearly the entire game. That's good for something, right?

(Thanks for nothing AXS.)

I hate it, but it is so suspenseful. You watch for a minute and nothing happens, and you are waiting . . . waiting . . . then all of a sudden turnover, three pointer, missed shot, three pointer. What the hell just happened?!

Way to win a game that we should of won. Not saying that sarcastically either. Every win counts and the ones that slip away are killers. Over all not a bad week.

some have been asking for. I couldn't watch, but it looks like a good game by many including Irvin, Robinson, Wagner, LeVert and Walton. That might be our future starting five. Looks good to me.

Not bad at 4-2 overall still got ncst and smu on the road and then the cupcakes but if they get out of the nonconference at 9-3 ill b satisfied. Big ten not looking too good right now Michigan definitley in the top 5 of the big ten

Walton/Albrecht

LeVert

Irvin / Robinson

Dawkins

Doyle / Wagner / Wilson

...Chatman/Donnel/MAAR all seem to be on the outside looking in.

At some point, I'd like to see Doyle and Mo play together.

Donnal played down the stretch of a tight game; he wasn't playing against scrubs. Don't get me wrong, I think Doyle is a better overall talent than Donnal, but tonight, hands down, Donnal was better. I know he's trying and I know it's frustrating for him, but Doyle has to catch the ball and convert those easy buckets
