Maurice Clarett Rambles About Paying Players
My favorite excerpt is this incoherent argument for paying players:
"It’s big business everywhere. So if a guy has a need and he doesn’t seek anybody out, and nobody seeks him out, he’s just a guy travelling through a community, and somebody didn’t recognize him and they say, ‘Hey, how are you doing?’ and you start a relationship with somebody, they aren’t trying to get you in trouble or doing something illegal. … At the end of the month, the money’s going to dwindle. It’s not realistic. The school makes $40, 50, 60 million, why is a guy struggling with $1,100?”
Advices or Advises?
And furthermore, is it "or" or "on"
My favorite part was the incoherent title of this thread.
What makes anyone think Clarett would know when or who he was advising?
his having attended a major university.
It would have actually made perfect sense somehow. It may have even been insightful. I blame that school down there myself.....
Actually, no, this is Maurice Clarett. It would have been incoherent babbling, but perhaps more stylized.
Terelle:
Terrell:
I guess its Terrelle (two rs, e at the end) but whatever.
I like our Terrell better.
Was thinking the same thing, why would he advise David Terrell
Maurice got it wrong when Jim Tressel told him to get one.
Too soon?
to learn more grammers.
Everyone misspells, makes grammatical errors, advices you, advices me, whatever.
......being advised sounds less harsh than being "adviced".
fails on so many levels.
Try not having a stipend, PAYING FOR SCHOOL ON TOP OF IT, and leaving school in debt like I did, and 80% of my damn friends did.
...help the University make money? Millions maybe? Some of these guys have no intention of ever using their degree (if they get one). College is the pathway to the NFL. Their athletic ability is their asset. It's the way out of poverty for many of these athletes. Even if you don't agree, at least try to understand the mindset.
Sorry about jacking the thread, I would have started a new one but I don't have enough points. Rivals has an interview with Al Borges that talks about running the shotgun and recruiting. Borges said that they could run the shotgun on 50% of their plays. Here is the link: http://michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1239666
he gives "advices".....thats what I thought he was joking about, lemme see if I can get the quotes. I laughed at first like he was comparing a young irrogant Arnold with the tsio situation.
Arnold liked to give "advices"
just sayin.
