Matt Hayes on Tressel, Smith and Gee
This piece addresses what I consider to be a huge, but not widely discussed, aspect of Tatgate. That is the role, and culpability, of Smith and Gee in addition to Tressel. Interesting read.

The "institutional control" of this fiasco has been laughable.
subject of "significant inquiry" by NCAA and OSU, sounds like his "playing days are done"
but Urban Meyer:
"I am committed to ESPN and will not pursue any coaching opportunities this fall. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the people at ESPN this spring and remain very excited about my role with the network this fall."
Not terribly reassuring.
Are we really worried about Urban becoming tsio's next head coach? I mean, Tressel was so good against us and had his program among the top 5 nationally almost every year. Not saying Meyer is not a great coach, and UM might be better served if the Vest's replacement was not so impressive, but Im just glad that things are finally starting to change. On both ends, no less.
I really can't imagine it getting worse than 1-10. I don't care who their next coach is. I'm just thankful for the significant and destructive break in momentum!
He worships all things RR. It would be a horrible irony if we play against the spread option and the 3-3-5 for the next decade. The question is how will TUOOS's recruiting will change when the checkbook has to be left on the pocket.
Anything without Greg Mattison. Don't ever forget that....
Was Mattison the DC at Utah and Bowling Green, too?
I didn't know Mattison was with him in Utah or Bowling Green. The man's a good coach, but maybe not top 5 coaching material.
Also, why is your avatar the biggest no call in Michigan Stadium history?
I do believe he won the 2009 NC with Charlie Strong and not Greg Mattison, but he did have Charlie Strong and Dan Mullen...not Addazio.
Edit: It was the '08 NC
Not terribly reassuring
What else could he say?
"I still have no plans or desires to return to coaching" instead of clearly focusing his committment to ESPN for "the fall", which is irrelevant to the upcoming coaching search.
Meyer is saying that he will be happy to coach at TSIO next year, or at least entertain serious discussions.
offense won't work in the Big Ten
/sarcasm
I actually saw some people over at eleven warriors saying they hoped Meyer wouldn't get the job for that exact reason.
Bring Meyer on. Lloyd beat him. Brady will too.
Lloyd...Brady...
