Matt Barkley Out Against ND

Submitted by hart20 on

Matt Barkley will not be playing against ND this weekend. Max Wittek, Rivals 4-star,  #76 overall, #3 Pro-style QB in 2011, will start instead.

ND now has a wide open path to the national title. I don't think that I've ever seen a worse team get so lucky.

Oh, and don't forget the worst case scenario: ND wins the BCS game and Ohio is awarded the AP National Championsip.

I'm going to go and find a dark, musty corner to cry in.

Just when I thought that piece of stone was discredited, ND is going to get a shot to play for the National Championship. All bow before Saban, et al, before letting our regional, recruiting-doom,rivalry contract-breaking false god of smugness win. All hail the SEC! All hail Saban!

A ND NC appearance - much less a win - means nothing but bad juju for Michigan. The world, writ large as well, but especially for us. There is no such thing as 15 mins of fame for that Babylon.

A world with every subway Domer beaming is a world I can't hack.

I've been struggling with this, but my girlfriend is an Irish fan ... so I've been hating on them just slightly less than I should be. don't get me wrong, I make it very clear to her that her team is no. 2 on my hate list, but in the greater context of college football, I have let go a little bit & decided I do not care whether ND gets into the NCG or it becomes an SEC affair. yes, the most romantic gift i can give her is an indifference/begrudging tolerance of her team. she seems to appreciate it.

a much easier schedule than ND #54 compared to # 33. This is  without playing UM. Um is #38 without playing OSU.

Unfortunately ND's Defense is rated # 1 scoring defense in the nation. Their offense is coming together, so I don't know what to expect, guess I won't watch the NC game if they are playing.

Stars are aligned. I just think of all the bad bowl luck we've had in the mid 2000s, playing two outstanding USC teams, and a Texas team with Vince Young. And I compare those Michigan teams to this ND team. Makes me a sad panda.

ND wins that game and goes to the NC ... and gets clobbered by Alabama.

Then?  2013 winter turns to summer and we forget all about it.  We start thinking about Michigan 2013.  Life goes on.

I am beyond dick of Notre dame. Sure a lot of teams get lucky to get to a championship game. However no team I can remember since maybe 2002 ohio have caught so many breaks on so many levels. They have an average freshman quarterback, a solid yet very beatable defense, and decent skill position players. Over and over again this year the luck fell on their side.

Byu, Stanford, Pitt, and of course the game against us all should have ended with a different result. Instead we have espn and all these other college football experts praising their every play call. I understand BK has won everywhere he has been. I also understand that they have recruited well the past several years. I just cannot believe how much luck they get. They get to go to a title game to which I am sick to my stomach, there are so many teams better then them.

I hate Alabama so much but they are at least a legit team. My hope is that ND loses so badly to Bama or Georgia that they come into the following year down and out.

I guess I'm really just tired of seeing Brian Kelly smile instead of his head exploding every week.

cant stand ND...but their D is more than good enough to handle that Bama O and in a 60 min game the way the season has gone, I wouldn't bet against ND at this point. They have passed every test one way or another.

I'd bet against them and I'm pretty sure if it happens Vegas is going to need to put up a huge line to keep all the money from going on Bama.   Bama's O-line would maul ND.  3 first round picks on it.  ND would have no shot of moving the ball on that D either.  Texas A&M had two tackles projected to go in the first round and Johnny football.  ND's simply doesn't.

That's one game and Bama was behind the entire game (and it was 4.65 without the sacks).  Bama ran it down LSU's throat for over 7 yards a carry against LSU who has a pretty good D-line , one tha may well produce to top 10 picks in april.   Maybe not maul, but they would have no trouble running the ball on them.
