Mason Cole, Artavis Scott, and George Campbell to visit Michigan on Feb. 24
According to Coach Brown. Hopefully we can get a commitment from one of them.

ALL OF THEM
February 11th, 2013 at 8:55 PM ^
here is to hoping it is unseasonably warm that weekend
February 11th, 2013 at 8:56 PM ^
Commits come in pairs. Hopefully this Feb. treats us as kind as last year.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:51 PM ^
Trios are the new pairs.
February 11th, 2013 at 8:55 PM ^
My recruiting knowledge isn't what it once was. Could someone give a brief rundown on them?
February 11th, 2013 at 9:21 PM ^
Mason Cole - 4* 2014 OT
Artavis Scott - 4* 2014 WR (high 90s in Rivals Top 100 today)
George Campbell - (Probable) 5* 2015 WR
Cole and Scott have said they want to be a package deal, both have visited previously. Cole has expressed the most interest out of the three. All go to the same high school in Tampa.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:25 PM ^
Perfect, thanks for the insight!
February 11th, 2013 at 9:30 PM ^
Wow, I didn't realize they had both already been up. Good sign to have two visits before junior year is over (ignore that kid shuffling 100s down in Mississippi).
February 11th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
Cole and Scott actually came up for BBQ last year and the MSU game. All three went to an Outback bowl practice
February 11th, 2013 at 10:01 PM ^
Getting him on campus this early is really good for Michigan. Kid ran a 4.44 laser timed 40 at the UA Combine in St. Pete. As a sophomore. Which given all of the FAKE 40 times out there doesn't sound to impressive, until you realize that in 2012, out of the 16,000+ kids that ran a laser timed 40 at a Nike Combine, only 19 ran one under 4.5, and only 3 ran one under 4.4
Source for 40 times: http://espn.go.com/high-school/football/events/nike-sparq-combines/2012/results/_/sort/40time
February 12th, 2013 at 10:38 AM ^
4.4 speed on the field. He absolutely runs away from the competition and his Tampa league has a lot of quick kids.
I think he is the #1 target for UM and maybe everyone. Randy Moss II.
February 11th, 2013 at 11:26 PM ^
If Cole and Scott want to be a package deal, it's looking like it will come down to Michigan and Notre Dame since those are the only two schools in good position for both.
February 11th, 2013 at 8:57 PM ^
Good deal, would be a nice trio to land!
February 11th, 2013 at 9:02 PM ^
I would love to have all 3 but would that hurt our chances with Drake Harris? Scott and Campbell would be WRs I believe?
February 11th, 2013 at 9:11 PM ^
X, Y, and Z. All 3 are different types of receivers, if we are lucky enough to land them they shouldn't really overlap.
Edit: Campbell's a 2015 guy, which I guess neither of us noticed at first, lol.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:09 PM ^
And they're from SEC country which means flippity-filp-flip-flipping shenangians will be ongoing.
Still glad the staff is reaching out and making inroads in Florida. Heck if we get just one of them it's a good sign for the future.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:12 PM ^
You're right. And if Ole Miss gets into the mix it's all over.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:13 PM ^
I don't think it will hurt our chances. George Campbell is a 2015 prospect just fyi.
February 11th, 2013 at 11:05 PM ^
I think people normally overplay the effect competition supposedly has on kids. When a recruiting site and tens of coaches across the country tell the kid that they're the sweetest thing since sliced bread, they believe them.
At that point, they become significantly less concerned about the other dudes, assuming that they are the sliced bread their talents have replaced.
Or something like that.
But seriously, kids' egos normally get in the way of worrying about other highly touted players.
February 12th, 2013 at 1:06 AM ^
Has the fear of competion stopped Saban from getting every elite player? Top players know if they go to a big time university, there will always be other top players there. That's just the deal of going to a top team.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:03 PM ^
Would love all 3 in this class.
February 11th, 2013 at 10:59 PM ^
Campbell is class of 2015, but I'll gladly take him for that class.
February 12th, 2013 at 6:57 AM ^
Why do these high schools force players to stay all four years?!?
February 11th, 2013 at 9:05 PM ^
A two-fer sure would liven this place up! C'mon down Mr. Cole and Mr. Scott!
February 11th, 2013 at 9:06 PM ^
Do we know whether they're just visiting us or we're one stop on a bigger tour of schools?
February 11th, 2013 at 9:07 PM ^
George Campbell is a 2015 guy so I doubt it would affect Drake Harris much. Artavis scott is a 2014 guy and he might give Harris a little compeition, but I doubt Harris cares that much about competition when he's considering Alabama and Ohio as well.
February 11th, 2013 at 10:08 PM ^
6'5" and 198lbs as a high school sophmore, with legit 4.4 speed. That is just unreal to be that big and that fast as a 15 year old.
February 12th, 2013 at 8:43 AM ^
The next Calvin Johnson?
February 11th, 2013 at 9:09 PM ^
Mason Cole is a 4 star OL from Florida. Artavis scott is a 4 star WR from Florida, and George Campbell is a 2015 WR from Florida.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:09 PM ^
I believe that Mason Cole has stated that he wants to make his decision by Spring.
February 12th, 2013 at 7:38 AM ^
So he has 5 weeks left.
Sincerely,
A Groundhog in PA

Sunday the 24th, MBB is at home against Illinois. Let's hope these three young gentlemen enjoy themselves and come away with a new-found appreciation for The University of Michigan.
February 12th, 2013 at 7:37 AM ^
It also helps that Ferns and Speight are supposed to also be in for a visit that weekend. Time to get to some crootin, boys.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:10 PM ^
From what I've heard, I don't think there is a chance any of them commit then. Cole *might* but I think he wants to take more time and visits, while ND probably leads for Scott and Campbell is a 2015 guy.
February 11th, 2013 at 11:02 PM ^
wtf is wrong with the people on this board that this post got downvoted? i mean, ridiculous. absolutely ridiculous.
February 11th, 2013 at 11:09 PM ^
There's no source...
February 11th, 2013 at 11:15 PM ^
yeah, but if it was a positive post with no source it would not have been downvoted.
February 12th, 2013 at 12:14 AM ^
While that may be true, his original post is just rumor spreading at its finest. "I've heard this"
February 11th, 2013 at 9:10 PM ^
They are visiting for the Illinois bball game that day. I believe it's just a one stop trip.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:20 PM ^
Also, the validity of these rumors may not be so good...Steve (Tremendous, now 247) posted on the Michigan247 board that Cole isn't sure if he will visit or not.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:27 PM ^
He actually said none of the Florida kids have confirmed.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:35 PM ^
Well, doesn't that just blow? You had me all excited for nothing.
I'm not sure about this Coach Brown character.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:37 PM ^
Yes, that post came after his first one.
February 11th, 2013 at 9:27 PM ^
You're wrong, when rumors are pro-michigan the validity is good. When rumors are anti-michigan they are anything but. Why do I always have to explain this? It makes so much sense!
February 11th, 2013 at 9:50 PM ^
...for one high school football team.
February 11th, 2013 at 10:05 PM ^
Regardless of whether both commit next week if they visit, you'd have to think that we're in good shape with them.
February 11th, 2013 at 10:43 PM ^
They may not even visit? Commit???
February 11th, 2013 at 10:51 PM ^
I'd put money the next commit is Doles
February 11th, 2013 at 11:11 PM ^
You're really going out on a limb there, aren't you?
February 11th, 2013 at 11:40 PM ^
Could have said Mone...
