Maryland to fire Edsall
It looks like Maryland will fire Edsall going into the Bye week after Ohio State. Maybe the players will send him out with a bang and upset OSU, or they'll lose by 50. It'll be interesting to see who they target as their next coach.

Except for that whole Super Bowl thing a few years ago.
Besides, John would be a target to coach at Indy. And everyone "knows" that elite NFL coaches never go back to coach in college.

Maryland fans have officially reached certifiable levels. Why in the living hell would Chip Kelly quit his job with the Eagles to coach at that shitty school? I almost feel bad for them. This is more stupid than suggesting Saban will ditch Alabama for Texas.

Edsall is kind of a dick. He doesn't respect his players very much, seems to be clueless of the goings-on in the locker room and had to get fired soon to save the university money. You can only be a dick like that and keep players' attention (and your job) if ya actually win. His firing was inevitable.
Maryland has the money to bring in a top-tier guy/staff. Hope they can get back to respectability soon. Big 10 East needs to have more decent 6/7 win teams.

Maybe they should go back to Friedgen.

But hey worth a shot, right? Guy won the conference champtionship in his first year there. Probably not possible in the Big 10 with they way the top teams are trending, but they could do worse.

If I'm Maryland, I look at the shitty attendance, the lack of history, and the lack of overall talent on the roster and I throw a Hail Mary.
I go after Ken Niumatulolo. Give him five years and see if he can turn Maryland into the Big Ten's Georgia Tech.

may be the most out-of-the-box but potentially successful idea yet. I like this better than my Ruffin ONeill idea above. Cut blocks and triple option for EVERYONE!

Love this idea, and it checks a lot of boxes. Familiarity with local area, a unique system that can be used as an equalizer, and a guy who can likely deliver the 7-9 victories a year to keep Maryland fans happy.
That said, Niumatalolo is a GOD at Navy and seems pretty content there, Navy also just joined the AAC and is getting poised to start reaping the benefits of conference affiliation the same way Air Force has through it's being in the Mt. West.

They could let him finish the season, they will pay him anyways. This will not delay the coaching change in anyway I think. Unless he has really lost his team, which really didn't show since they played Michigan tough for the most part.

This is clearly the reason John Harbaugh was at the game last weekend.
