Maryland Assistant taking Head Coaching Gig in FCS
Maryland DL coach and associate head coach Mike London is taking the head job at Howard.
London was previously the head coach at UVa and at Richmond. It may seem like small-ish thing, but London was an important part of Maryland's recruiting, especially in the V portion of the DMV.

I'm not gonna bitch about the title but others surely will.

I expect you're right on this.

For the same amount of characters including the space, why not Maryland Assistant taking Head Coaching Gig?

Or "person takes new job somewhere." Even more mysterious!

That reminds me - we once had a thread here that began as a joke called "Generic MGoThread" or something to that effect. It was actually one of the funniest things to appear on here and it is a shame it is not in the HOF.

So close to a good title. Just fill in the "blanks."

I was hoping it would be Joe Moorhead at PSU who was leaving.

1. Who cares
2. Maryland is in the BIG whether you like it or not.

Never mind, misunderstood title.

Why? Seriously?
"Maryland DL coach taking HC job at Howard"
That's hard?

But where's the drama in that? "B1G East Coach Takes HC Position" was so intriguing!

Huge get for Howard. A very proud HBCU in DC, it's had flashes of football success but generally gets walked on by the other East Coast and Southern HBCU's. Nowhere near the FCS power that James Madison is (3 hrs outside DC). Getting London is a real coup for Howard -- instant name recognition in the area, due to this time at UVa and UMd. Good for them.

Is this supposed to be important?

Yes in that London is a good recruiter in the greater D.C. Area and obviously won't recruit Michigan caliber players to Howard, so there is an opening for us.

Very much so considering it's Mike London.
