Martin Breunig no longer considering Michigan
On his Recruiting Roundup today (WTKA podcasts can be found here), Sam Webb said that German power forward Martin Breunig is "not considering Michigan any longer . . . will not visit . . . does not like the number of bigs on Michigan's roster right now." Breunig was likely the last possible addition to Michigan's 2011 class.
Moving on to 2013, Sam said that Mark Donnal, a 6-8 power forward from Whitehorse, Ohio, and Monte Morris, the 5-11 point guard from Flint Beecher, are both visiting Michigan this week. The visits come at an important time given that Beilein will begin handing out offers to members of the 2013 class on June 15.
i get the feeling that unless we can land an uberprospect, we're going to bank this scholarship.
I hope so. With as good as Beilein's recruiting has been, it would be hard to see him give a scholarship out to a lower ranked player. I trust Beilein's judgement and all but I have to believe that getting a higher ranked player in 2013 would be better long-term for the quality of the program.
...loss. Afraid of competition, apparently.
Breunig apparently will choose between Washington and South Florida, according to this report. Must be less competition down low at those schools.
In Beilein we trust, Im sure he knows what hes doing hes been doing it for years now.
